What People Are Saying About The Corcoran Group

In Short – The Corcoran Group started in 1973 and today sells and rents from 11 New York City offices and four Brooklyn ones (there are also locations in the Hamptons and south Florida). The company produces its own market research report and is considered an industry leader. Agents are just as gracious when renting a modest apartment as when negotiating the sale of a dream home.

I wanted to sell my apartment and upgrade to a bigger one so I went with Corcoran. All they spoke about is how great the website is and how they're the best. I could tell the broker spent less than 10 minutes preparing for pricing my property. They have a hundred listings in my neighborhood and none of them are selling because they keep overpricing. The broker kept pushing my to list with her because they were the best. All the marketing she was going to do was the same as all the big firms. I could not trust them and I'm not fooled with smokes and mirrors. I did list with them for 3 months and I was proven right. Not one offer. The manager called me pushing me to do a price reduction. I told her that her broker should not have promised me what she couldn't deliver. She was polite but still pushy. They're like the stepford wives of real estate. Never again.
- Pros: Big name
- Cons: Too many listings, Plastic Smiles, Promises they can't deliver, Pushy brokers and managers, Too Big
