So pissed I'm writing from the salon chair.. This will be worth reading.

So I am so annoyed with the Gigi experience (lacking wine and hand massages as others wrote previously). As a NYC salon hopper, and new Astoria resident, I came here excited about the reviews I read.

Truth is that I've been sitting in the washing hair chair now for about 35 min while my "stylist" (some apparently mute chick with black hair and a death stare) goes between cutting someone else's hair and being concerned about ordering her chicken gyro. She left the assistant who was the only one who lifted a finger for me to condition my "brassy and bad ends" (as mute girl described to my face).

When I sat down initially, I was already worried. Normally I hate small talk at the hair salon but I know it's apart of the job as well as necessary to understanding the client. This girl was quite different where she not only said barely 2 words to me which were toward the end of my foiling, but initially spent only about 10 seconds asking me what I wanted done before she walked away. I thought she just stepped away for a second, and was gonna come back and ask more info on my needs...but no, she then came back 10 min later with mixing bowls. I guess she knew what was best for me and my dry, brassy hair (which I got no tips on how to treat as you would get at even supercuts)

Now I'm waiting here getting more and more impatient, so much so as I've read 2 magazines, texted numorous people on when or when not to tip, and now logged onto citysearch, made an account and wrote this review. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm relating to others who posted about their burnt scalp... pretty sure 45 min is too long for box dye, let alone professional solutions.

After much tugging on my hair with a brush similar to one bought at the bargain stop down the street, by an uninterested stylist... In the end my hair came out meh. I'm a golden blonde with low lights, so it shouldn't be too hard to add golden blonde and lowlights. haha. It looks pretty OK. Not the best it's been, and not exactly what I really wanted but 10 seconds isn't normally enough time to explain that. It ended up being $170 for half head hilights that took an hour and a half, a decent cut, and a decent blow dry/style. As said before I've gotten better at the other places around. Amateur hour. Cuts and style is alright- color and attentiveness, go elsewhere.

Not such a good experience. I've been getting my haircuts from Kristina for about 3 years...I cannot say that her haircuts are bad but she never does what I really ask for it...Any time I request /suggest something she cuts me off that this is how it suppose to be...First of all I have wavy hair and she keeps giving me haircuts for straight hair, second she gives me the same haircut for the last 3 years, regardless what I ask for...Anyway, I gave her too many chances and I will not go back to her...

I still smiling and feeling good!. At 51 plus I've been around the block, several zip codes and even different states in the quest for a sylist who is able to consider what I want and take the time to advise me what would be the best color/cut for my..and I'll be the first to admit ...not easy, very thick, course,curly , graying, dry,overprossesed hair. Well..was I in for a treat! after a very warm welcome and refresment offer I was promptly greeted by Irina my stylist. Who was as interested with what I want my experiance to be and I was...I felt pamper and heard and left this salon really happy with my hair color and cut...and for the VERY first time the blow out was NOT a painful experiance..something i've come to believe was par for the course....so happy and actually looking forward to my next visit! Irina.....please don't go anywhere for a very long time to come! Thanks again to the whole very friendly staff for a lovely experiance!! Ingrid

Great Salon. I have been searching for a good salon for years, and finally found one! I came in with frizzy, grown-out, brassy highlights, and left with PERFECT blonde highlights and a great cut. Monet was very nice, and took the time to both listen and explain what was best for my hair.

The atmosphere is also very nice, and I was offered herbal tea and a complimentary hand massage. This is definitely my salon from now on.

found the right stylist. I have been here a few times and tried a couple of different stylist. All were OK to good. However, I went to Christina for the first time yesterday. She totally nailed it. Beautiful cut and color - just what I was hoping for. I feel fresh, hip, and amazing.

i ended up hating it -.-. alright, i read all these reviews and decided to go last week on friday to kristina to get my hair cut super short and i trusted her with my hair which is now choppy and uneven. when she started cutting it i was like okay im liking it , but then when she was done i was like okay this isnt bad but she kept on blow drying it and fixing it cause she knew it didnt come out to well. im 16 years old going back to school to deal with my shet hair i cryed 2 nites ina row or 3 for my boy hair ):. this lady cut my bangs wayyy to short and like messed it up big time. i can only straight iron my hair to make it look descent . you tell me if you wanna go here or not but think about it twice before you go.

Finally found my salon!!. I was absolutely thrilled with the service. The color and cut were fabulous and the staff was outstanding. I have been to quite a few salons along the way and you all are top tier...

I love my haircut and highlights!. My stylist was Tenzin and I really appreciated her input and ideas and the manner in which I was treated. I felt very comfortable and felt like I was in good hands. I look forward to trying other colors and styles with her soon and I appreciate her easy going manner. I highly recommend her and will definitely be a returning customer.

Best cut EVER!. Best haircut I've had. Gigi paid attention to everything I said. He knew how to make the most of my wavy and fine hair. Amazing!

Lorin overprocessed my hair. My hair was so damaged that I had to go some where else to get it corrected and I had no get a short hair cut because my hair was breaking off. DO NOT GO HERE it is bogus!
