Great wine, even better prices. They carry a good selection of excellent wines, including some from local Long Island wineries and some from their own house brand. You can find most any type of wine you're looking for though admittedly they don't carry a wide variety of brands. Still though if you're looking for some good wine at very low prices you'd be hard pressed to find a place as good as Joe's.

Great selection, weird staff. The selection of cheapies is unsurpassed, but the cashiers are....weird. There's no other way to describe it, though if I had to choose a few other adjectives 'condescending' 'pretentious' and 'fake' come to mind. Don't let it stop you, though, because the bargain is worth the agony of the checkout staff.

excellent selection of wines under $10. Trader Joe's Charles Shaw merlot actually tastes good and it's only $3/bottle. it doesn't compare to $20+ bottles of wine but it's good for everyday drinking. Also best to stick to the Charles Shaw reds, apparently the whites are no good and neither is the beajolais. Popular brands Robert Mondavi and Beringer retail for $9 at Trader Joe's. They don't have a huge selection but these are the best prices I've seen in NYC. The Trader Joe's grocery store next door is excellent too and is much cheaper than any gourmet or regular grocery store in NYC. Definitely worth a trip to see what all the hype is about.
