Editorial Review for 230 Fifth – by Katie Heffernan
In Short
Gilded elevators open onto a penthouse cocktail den practically stretching to the horizon. The mirror- and window-lined room looks like an '80s interpretation of the art deco era, with low-slung suede sofas in deep sunset hues and some of owner-art collector Steven Greenberg's 1940s modernist furnishings. A chrome staircase leads to a sprawling rooftop like you've never seen before: Almost 360 unobstructed degrees--including a dead-on of the Empire State--alongside breezy palm trees.

Insider Tips
On the MenuCocktails average $12, but the wine list is full of good deals. All bottles are rated a 90 or above by Robert Parker, with many under $30.
Look GoodPlanning your next big soiree? More than 1,000 people can be accommodated here at once.
When to GoThink it's cold enough to close the roof? Not so--the roof remains open year-round.

let me start off by saying never in my life have been to a place with the most discourteous staff I had made a reservation for my birthday only to be told at the door that the reservation was filled and it was in my name. the bouncer said the only way i could get in is if i buy 3 bottles after playing lets make a deal with the bouncer we got in. The waitresses in there act like you owe them something we had one who spiiled a whole bottle of orange juice on my friend andthen put the bottle on the table when we asked to get us another she gave us an attitude and said no and walked away i had to force her to replace. all in all it was a terrible experience theres a lot more but i would need like 2 pages to write it all im tellin u guys stay away from this place its the worst in the city I'd rather go to some dive bar then step foot on the same block as this place I kid you not after reading the other reviews on this site i dont know how this place is still open
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything

Lets start of by saying Steven Greenberg you like reading citysearch so read the truth you have the worst staff working for you starting with the two time lying B*****d Charlie going to your barbacks and waitresses and security. The burgers are made from Pigs Back how discusting is that as well your dirty cups that get washed with water and dried with dirty towels your unsafe place that all you care about is having the place crowded and people being stufed like sardines. The cops have come to your place numerous times last year but we know what happen money buys people and thats why you havent been shutdown or fined. Lets go to your discriminating dress code that you have your monkeys down stairs turning hard working people away if you want to go somewhere were the waitresses bump your gratuity to what they think is convient then keep going and supporting Steven greenberg sure as hell i wont be going and hopefully citysearch will keep this posting up so the people can read the truth
Pros: none
Cons: Steven Greenberg
