In Short
The interior of this Morningside Heights eatery has the feel of a diner, minus the garish lighting. Patrons cram into red vinyl booths or stools at the no-frills bar for soul-food stapes like fried chicken and catfish, each served with two sides. Applewood accents the barbecue, which includes pulled pork, baby back ribs and short ribs. All-natural sauce is added in the kitchen, and squeeze bottles of the stuff--sweet and spicy--sit atop each table.

I thought the food here was excellant. It came really fast and it was really tasty, especially the mashed potatoes. My friend found a long black hair in her fried chicken which sort of ruined the meal for her. The others who had hair-less fried chicken agreed it was not the best fried chicken they had ever had, but overall everyone enjoyed eating here. The service was beyond fast. The place had a cute diner-like feel to it. Overall not too shabby

The Ribs at this place were really good, but the side dishes were really mediocre and the staff wasn't exactly the friendliest. Aside from the ribs, I wasn't thrilled with this restaurant.

I've been here a few times and i have to say the food is really good, the salmon is huge and the pulled pork is like butter. they give you two kinds of barbeque sauce in a squeez bottle sweet and spicy. the lemonade is great and you get your pick of two sides from a nice list. it seems like a family owned biz so it has that home feel. i really like that there are young people working inside which is always a good thing for the community. my only critique is that some of the young ladies could use just alittle training in customer service and proper attire when serving food.other than that i really like this place and you should check it out. P.S. they give you a basket of hot corn rolls that taste heavenly.

The restaurant can usually accommodate tables of four or fewer without notice, but groups of five and larger should arrange for reservations.
The Extras:
Desserts like red velvet cake and pecan pie are homemade and big enough to share.
Save Money:
At $4 for dinner (including sides), the kids menu is a sure bargain.
What to Drink:
