Good dumplings, very nice staff. Good selection of Chinese and Japanese finger foods here. The dumplings were quite good and the bubble tea was awesome.

Great cheap eats!!. Great food, cheap price! Their chicken teriyaki is great and the bubble tea is amazing! The red bean steamed bun was a little cold and hard. The only reason why I didn't give it a 5star was bc they do not deliver everyday. The guy on the phone said they delivery every other day, and no Sundays (?). A little odd. But other than that, great food!

Yummy Dumplings, Awesome Sushi, and Bubble Tea!. I fell upon this cute little restaurant called Vanessa's Dumpling when I was on 14th street walking around one day. I saw that they had sushi and so I went in. The sushi bar was filled with fresh delicious looking sushi, and the smell was of yummy dumplings. The pan fried dumpling is my favorite, although the broiled dumplings are great! They have all different types of choices ... chicken teriyaki, wonton soups, bubble tea, and many different asian style dishes.

I highly recommend this place. They have fast service, and your bill will be incredibley cheap.

You will leave with a full tummy, and a happy face. I love this dumpling house!

Our hot and sour soup was written by Village Voice. My favorite wonton soup is Shrimp and Watercress, that's the flavor I grew up with.

We also do catering and party events, NYU students love us.

Please visit us again soon and try wonton soup. Please let me know whether you like it or not.

Thanks,

Vanessa

Cheap, decent. This is a fine place for a snack. The dumplings are so-so, with standard filling and the thick skins that seem to be pervasive in New York city. The noodle soup is also so-so - the noodles could be chewier and the broth lacks zing. The sesame sandwiches are good, if a little greasy. Nothing to write home about, but it's definitely edible.

low prices, good sandwiches, average dumplings. we were going to go to dumpling man, but one of my friends had already been and said it wasnt good, so i typed in dumpling into the citysearch field and vanessas dumplings was one of the search results. i had passed by it before, but had never really felt a strong urge to eat there because the brightly coloured signs & lack of a chinese menu hinted at unauthenticity (yes, i am aware that is not a word).

the food is served fast-food style, meaning you order & pick-up at the counter. the prices are extremely cheap (chinatown cheap, even) 10 dumplings will set you back $5 or so. they have about 7 different kinds of dumplings (choice of fried or steamed). in addition, they also have sesame sandwiches for about $3 each & various noodle, though no rice, dishes.

my friend & i split an order of 10 assorted (seafood, vegetable, chicken & mushroom, pork & cabbage) boiled dumplings. i didnt find the dumplings particularly good. they were quite large (positive), but lacked sufficient flavour (negative), had an overly thick skin (negative), and left a slightly odd aftertaste (deal breaker). i think that the aftertaste was probably from them boiling the dumplings in the same water over and over again or from boiling too many cabbage dumplings in the water. i also had a vegetable filled sesame sandwich, which i found much more satisfactory than the dumplings. the assortment of fresh and pickled shredded vegetables was sandwiched between two layers of crispy, oily, fried sesame pancake. the bread was chewy, salty, and warm, contrasting nicely with the filling. my friends that tried the sesame pancakes with meat gave them a thumbs up too.

overall, i would come again for the sesame sandwiches and low prices.
