What People Are Saying About Face To Face NYC

Featured Review

In Short – Walking into this airy Chelsea spa feels a bit like entering a cloud, with high ceilings and light colors, and three simple treatment areas flooded with sun. The menu, on the other hand, is packed with color and comedy. Boys battling razor burn can get the Manly Touch to soothe and smooth their faces, and the spa promises a natural glow with the George Hamilton tan. Those hung-over should check themselves in for the Betty Ford treatment, known for releasing toxins and combating bloating. –

Editor's Tips

On the Menu:
In addition to facials and hair removal, the spa also offers massage, body treatments, manicures, pedicures and anti-aging treatments.
Hair Removal:
This is one of the only spas in the city to offer sugaring, a technique that's similar to waxing (which they also offer), but more natural, longer-lasting and (some say) less painful.
Brands:
Stocked on the spa's shelves are products from Astara, Anthony Logistics and more.

value
50.0% positive
  1. It was a very ordinary massage at a very expensive rate.
  2. You can probably find a more beautiful setting at many of them than the middle of NYC, but I would rate the spa services at facetoface comparable to any of the most expensive spas I have visited.
  3. The reasonable price and the professional etiquette makes this place great!

Overpriced and Overrated

by jeremylucas

I made an appointment for waxing/ grooming of my private area and backside. Easy enough to make an appointment but the descriptions on the website are deceiving.

I am not a hairy guy but I do like to keep it very clean looking down there. Because I'm not naturally hairy, it should be fairly simple to do.

They should really charge by the amount of time it takes and not the number of service categories it requires. I am not hairy to it's really unfair to charge me the same as a hairy person who requires much more time.

So anyway, I was greeted by a friendly female receptionist. I only waited a couple minutes before a kinda strange looking fella led me to a private room. To be quite honest, he kinda creeped me out - he clearly had lots of "work" done and there was something very artificial about him. He also had no personality.

I was not told what to do but simply ushered to a room and the guy shut the door behind me. So I undressed, found a towel and got on the table and waited.

The creepy guy came in and didn't really say much. He got right to work without really saying anything. He immediately removed the towel and exposed all my manhood. The whole thing was very impersonal and cold. I was uncomfortable the entire time.

I just think there is a certain mannerism and I guess etiquette that should go into dealing with someone's "sensitive" areas.

I was treated more like and object and less like a human.

I ended up paying way more than I expected and I really did not care for this therapist - I think his name was Enrique.

And then they tried to add on all these products on top of the already too pricey service.

I will not be going back here.

i had what?

by rosa and charlie

Anyone who's ever had a Brazilian wax knows it's not the most comfortable experience. However, never before have I gotten off the table after having been waxed and been unaware anything had occured. Enrique's technique is spectacular. So much that it barely hurt, and there was no residual after effects after. No discomfort, no irritation. Furthermore, after ten years of waxing, Enrique was the first person ever to teach me how to care for my skin to decrease irritation and ingrown hairs. I will be going to see him forever and recommend him to anyone!

Average facial- don't waste your money

by ash318

I went for a facial here as I found a deal on lifebooker.

The facial was for 1 hr, and it was meant to have a lot of extractions and deep pore cleansing. It was more like a massage for the face, with hardly much extraction.

Even during the little extraction my therapist did not use a magnifying class or super bright light to see what they were doing. I left super disappointed. I called them back and they were super nice to let me come back again, to do another one free of cost with the owner.

That was pretty much the same too. While I had more extractions 1 week later, 1 month later my face is ready for another facial. Total waste of time and money. It didn't even look like I had a facial!

Going to stick to where I usually go!! bottom line!

  • Pros: location
  • Cons: not what was advertised
