What People Are Saying About Frederik Fekkai Hair Salon

In Short – This fourth-floor salon and spa is a beehive of well-executed activity. Every element is immaculate and highly polished: from the straightforward barber shop with iconic black-and-white photos, mini flat screens and atrium views, to the cluster of female stylists' worktables lit by small glowing cubes and the waiting area decorated with animal skin rugs and tree trunk tables. The same goes for the haute clientele getting haircuts, blow-outs, manicures, makeup and specialty skin treatments.
Great cut, color, blowouts, manis, and pedis
by ysolde
I have been going to the salon on Fifth Avenue regularly for about two years now. My hair looks fantastic! Every senior stylist has given me incredible haircuts.
Georges does my color, and he is a genius. When I first went to him, my hair was just recovering from a bad colorist at another Fifth Avenue salon -- she had literally fried my hair, and a whole section had fallen out as a result. Once the hair grew back in, after much care and pampering from Fekkai's stylists, Georges started working on my color. It has looked fantastic ever since -- the right shade for my skin, glossy, just perfect.
Go see Manana or Fal fro an eyebrow wax -- you won't regret it! And sit back for a mani or a pedi that is heaven-sent.
BTW, they no longer charge for beverages, so feel free to sip a cup of tea while the staff makes you beautiful . . .
- Pros: Excellent service
- Cons: Can be hectic
Overpriced, Overrated!
by divarani
For what you get, this Salon is over-rated. The stylists are ok. The first time I went to Brandon, I was somewhat satisfied but each time thereafter it has been a disappointment. They only know how to give one cut on long hair. The pretentious and abnoxious attitudes becomes a real turnoff after the first visit. The sylists are always running late and aren't very personable. And if I'm paying $160 for a haircut, I do expect not to be charged $5 for a perrier! On top of that the stylist doesn't even blowdry your hair, there's an assistant. So by the time you're done paying for your mediocre hair cut, you're out $200+ after paying for the haircut, the water, and tipping the stylist, the shampoo person and the assistant.
- Pros: location
- Cons: expensive, bad service
