I had 5 treatments at assara and I'm going for my last laser hair removal session in 2 weeks. I find this place to be very professional and super modern and clean. The lasers they use look new and between laser hair removal sessions I've seen a drastic reduction in the amount of hair that actually grows back. They really go in-depth asking lots of background questions to make sure they put the laser at the right setting so you get maximum results (no hair growing back EVER!) with minimum pain. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to laser hair removal. The laser techs are really attentive and thorough... they don't miss a hair!

Just finished my third treatment at Assara (I purchased 3 treatments from LivingSocial). What a nice experience I had. I found the newly renovated place beautiful and artsy, the treatments pleasant (surprisingly no pain at all!), and the laser specialists knowledgable and sweet. I just purchased another package of 3 treatments for my bikini, and am very much looking forward to coming back in 6 weeks. I would not hesitate to recommend Assara to my friends.

I bought a coupon for 3 treatments. The first treatment was ok with Gloria, a few days later Angela called me to see how it went, I told her that I was still seeing a lot of hair on my legs and she had me come in to redo the treatment which on the one hand was nice but on the other hand, why do I need to go in twice instead of them doing a good job the first time - I don t have much time to waist. My second treatment went ok, the third treatment I was late for an appointment because of traffic and Angelo threw a hissy fit and told me she couldn't take me then but she "would be nice and wouldn't charge me" for the missed treatment. Mind you, she was NOT nice about the whole thing at all and there was no one waiting there - I am pretty sure I was the only person in the salon and she could have easily just done my treatment which takes 15 minutes anyway. I left emptyhanded and then when I came in another time to get my third treatment Angela told me that she applied my third treatment payment the time that I was late and now I had to pay the full $345 for the treatment. What??? If I knew she applied the coupon I would have never showed up to pay the full price in the first place! They waisted my time and clearly demonstrated that they have no concept of customers service whatsoever. Clearly if the place is placing groupons and living socials promotions they are trying to drum up new business - then why go about pissing potential new customers off in the process?? Who does this? Especially given that there are a million laser shops in Manhattan offering same or better deals? Bottom line - these people are rude, don't know how to conduct business and don't deserve your money and time - go someplace else!

I didn't know my potential. I had a uni brow my whole life. I was made fun of as a kid, and I knew the girls didn't like it as I got older.

I came here to get it removed and all I can say is that my social life is flipped around to the opposite extreme.

People smile at me more often, like when I go on the bus or the train, and the girls are more available suddenly. :)

over all good experience. i'm currently looking for a place to do laser hair removal for a good price. i've tried assara in the past (end of 2009) and just thought i'd take a look at deals before contacting them. i was shocked at all the reviews, specially the very few bad ones and the suggestion that they write good reviews for themselves (which i could believe since few places do that). my experience with them was as follows: i've tried both Angela and Liz, for me i prefered Liz. she was easier to talk to and warm up to. I can see where the other reviews coming from about Angela, she does feel condescending and cold. liz did explain the process in total for me, it was my absloute first time doing laser so i went in and had her do a test patch, which she did, and i was in great pain, and she was more than fine with rescheduling and offered (sold) me numbing cream for next time to ease the pain . went next time and had applied the cream 45 mins in advance, had the treatment (was brazilian) was still painful but i could tolerate more. she was very thorough and made sure she covered all spots in the area. she asked me frequently if i was ok and took breaks to let me breathe. she also applied aloe vera after the treatment was over. and treatment was very effective. i was actually clean for about 2.5 months after. then i scheduled my 2nd one, that time i had angela, which i was less than thrilled with her. the hair grow much faster after her treatment, her response when i mentioned it is that it's only the first time that has such result coz of the "shock". which is not true, i've had sessions else where with same first time great result. she must have had a lower setting. i'm now looking for a full body laser deal and not sure where i'd do it. any recomendations ladies? gents? :)

Worth a try. I had my first laser facial at Assara. Not completely what I was expecting from a facial, but not disappointing either. My skin definitely looks better, though the laser technician says I will probably need at leat three more treatments. This was different from the pimple-skweezing facials I expected, the technician did a good job of explaining how the laser works to tighten skin and make it more flawless and glowing. My skin was a little red right after.. My doorman (who?s a huge flirt) said I was glowing? So good results I'd say.

Best service and amazing results. I decided to bight the bullet and give up shaving and waxing forever, so i chose Assara to permanently laser away the hair on my underarms, legs, upper lip and bikini area. Every time I go to Assara I have a good experience, they are polite and professional and always listen to me with regards to my needs. I still have 3 treatments left, but already i see the hair is growing in lighter, i,m so excited by the results. Thanks Assara! Very worth it!!

Assara for clear smooth skin!. Ever since I heard about airbrushing on magazines I’ve been trying to get glossy perfect magazine skin. I’ve tried scrubs and makeup like everyone else, but the best thing I’ve found so far is microdermabrasion at Assara. They really take their time and analyse your skin and make sure you’re going to walk out with smoother softer more even looking skin. You face will have a pinkish glow when you walk out and the next morning you’ll see and feel the difference. The laser technician suggested I try a laser facial to remove dark spots and nothing works like it! I read that some NYC celebrities go to Assara, and Ii believe it. They are amazing and dedicated to clients.
