Our Family reunion was a sucess thanks to this restaurant.
We recently held a 3 generation family reunion at Chatham Square Restaurant on Saturday April 9th. I can't praise the restaurant , staff and food too highly.
Our host Alex made us welcome, decorated the private dining area downstairs, set tables beautifully with complimentary soft drinks (sodas and tea).
We were assigned our own waitstaff and Pang the head waiter directed the servers to keep the Dim Sum coming to all our tables, he even took our group picture with all 7 cameras!
We had about 40 people who had a wonderful time, thanks to the restaurant and staff.
I was amazed that the cost averaged out to no more than $15.00 per person. The dim sum was delicious , served hot right from the kitchen, with a wide selection of dishes.
We lingered for 4 hours, and were given freedom to stay and chat as long as we wished.
The out of town cousins then broke up and toured Chinatown.
Call and speak with Alex, he will be most cooperative welcoming and helpful.
Yummy authentic chinese food. The dishes are so fresh and authentic. I like this place a lot because the food is not so greasy and salty like many of the other chinese restaurants. Must try the dungeness crabs over rice or roasted pigeons!!
Chinatown Delight. Don't come to NYC Chinatown looking for pork fried rice...you will be disappointed. Don't come to NYC Chinatown if you tell your friends that you'll try anything and everything, but you mean chicken and pea pods. Chinatown is an opportunity to experiment with food, and no place does it better than the Chatham Square Restaurant. Fresh steamed sea bass with a hint of ginger, salt and pepper squid, beef with bitter mellon, steamed lobster with minced pork, duck in plum sauce, snails in black bean sauce...the list is endless. If you wake up in the middle of the night dreaming of food...this place can make it to perfection the next day. Sitting at your table, watching the dishes being brought out to the other customers, inspires you to over order. Don't worry, a party of four eats like royalty for about $60.00.
Editorial Review. Wallet-friendly Chinese restaurant heaps on the dim sum and other seafood, in addition to made-to-order noodle dishes and lunch specials.
Mid-upscale chinese food.
This is one of the more authentic Chinese Restaurant I've tasted in the New England area. It is definitely on par with the better restaurants you would find in Hong Kong.
The texture and quality of the materials are superb, they used high-grade meat and other seafood. The ambiance are also semi-upscale.
For those who are confused, they also provide set menu for 4,6,8, and 10 people. These are pretty good deal actually, and very tasty too. It's just, when saying 4 people, they're assuming "4 very hungry people". So if you have a party of 5, you may want to order the set menu for 4 people instead of 6.
Pros: Great food, authentic Chinese food, set menu
Cons: Pricey.
