My fiance has always had a difficult time fitting into nice shirts. He has a smaller frame and has always spent additional money to have shirts tailored after he purchased them from a store. They still never looked perfect on him.

We found La Rukico Custom Tailors after purchasing a groupon deal. Mr. Kelly quickly identified why shirts do not fit properly and spent time taking his measurements and learning about his personality and style to make him the perfect custom made shirt. The shirt fits him perfectly and I love it! The detail and exquisite work that went into creating the shirt is amazing!

We loved the shirt so much that we are having a custom made suit made for our upcoming wedding! We have already been back to the store to discuss options for a suit and will be returning for the first fitting at the end of the month.

I look forward to working with Mr. Kelly and La Rukico Custom Tailors. I know they are going to make my fiance a perfect suit for our special day!

Mr. Kelly and his team (Neil, Ben & Max) will take care of you starting with your fitting and the necessary adjustments after your suit/s arrive. My best tips-take your time. No, REALLY take your time :-)! Ask about the different fabrics, weight, pricing. Knowing what you want helps, but Mr. Kelly can help guide you. He can look @ your body type and keep you from making any crazy mistakes. If you're body type demands something special tell it up front-examples, long torso, pant rise, weird pecs, etc.. Best to bring a suit you like-and your dress shoes. Fashion pics. Whatever. On your measurements make sure you give yourself room for walking, bending, working, sitting. It even helps to bring the style shirt you wear. The shirt weight, size fabric, collar style all make a difference in building the look you like. Mr. Kelly has shirt styles there and I have bought shirts and they are just excellent. This is tailored clothing and I have found that standing like a model in your new suit doesn't quite get it-you need to stretch and move around to get the "feel." Be as precise as possible about every aspect of the style suit you want and you will be a happy return customer! Be prepared for the possibility that you will need some tweaking-it's inevitable. After all it's what makes custom custom :-).

For considerable time I have struggled to find a tailor who I trust will not ruin my clothing and that I am comfortable setting free with expensive items. After a referral from an old friend and long time satisfied customer of Mr. Kelly, I had a pleasant experience with La Rukico Custom Tailors.

Mr. Kelly spent considerable time and effort digging through fabrics and catalogs while offering valuable guidance and insight towards fulfilling my vision for this custom order. After a thorough and comprehensive fitting for 3 pairs of custom pants, the final product arrived earlier than expected, with each pair fitting perfectly, as measured and promised. Additionally, I worked with the tailor through a comprehensive fitting to transform a poorly tailored off the rack suit to a near custom fit for a very reasonable price.

Fortunately, I was able to work with Mr. Kelly to settle on a mutually agreeable price. He was also happy to propose attractive offers for repeat and referral business based on reasonable incentives. I am very happy with Mr. Kelly, his staff and the service they provided. I look forward to working with Mr. Kelly and La Rukico Custom Tailors in the future.

Great Experience. Best Tailor in NYC. Forget the high end Department Stores, Mr. Kelly will suit you in a top quality suit for a more than fair price. He only uses the finest fabrics, and the fit is perfect. Also, for sport coats and overcoats, he is the one man to see. I have my friends and family suited by Mr. Kelly

For nearly a decade, I’ve been looking for the best custom tailor in the city, and I’ve found him time and again in Kelly. He owes his splendid fabrics to the likes of Ermenegildo Zegna. He owes his sharp sense of fashion to the world. And he owes apologies to no one.

Kelly provided me with 6 suits and countless shirts and slacks during my 8 years as his client. After the first few, I could tell he was spot-on—yet each subsequent order affirmed to me that he’s a genuine artist who has sharp grasp on the subtle features that distinguish “fine” from just “good.” My wardrobe could simply not have made thus far without him. Full stop.



Kelly provides excellent counsel on the most appropriate colors, cuts, designs and finishing features for every body measurement. But he does more than that. He also dispenses rarely honest advice about what’s suitable and what’s not—even if the suitable option is cheaper—while helping you remain as economical as possible within your budget range. The result is an impeccably dapper mix and match of different clothing items for your specific needs.



Kelly’s store is a delight to walk into, and even a greater delight to walk out of… when he dresses you up, of course. The Kelly shopping experience is nothing short of five stars. You’ll see it—and believe it.

I just bought a suit and some shirts. Mr. Kelly delivered exactly what he promised, a perfectly fitted and high-quality suit. I'm surprised about the few negative reviews I've seen on the web; they don't jive with my experience at all. I paid less than I've paid for bespoke suits in the past, got better service and the suit truly looks like it was hand-made for me. Fits like a glove.

This establishment provides the finest and most genuine custom made suit and shirt fabrics for those who don't want to pay department store prices. The fabrics are genuine and do not provide all the fake "Super 100s" level materials which are actually made of polyester and are itchy which most other competitors out there provide.

The salesperson Mr. Kelly makes you feel at home by asking questions explaining everything from A to Z about the material qualities. He is extremely knowledgeable and brings 40 years experience in custom tailoring. Kelly knows what suit and style would suit (no pun intended) an individual based on height, weight, and occasion (business, wedding etc.)

Once you picked out what material you want, they take over 20 different measurements and digital pictures so the clothes can fit you like a glove. I waited three weeks for my suit and shirts and I was pleased! The suit and shirts fit perfectly! I was so happy with the suit and shirts that I donated ALL of my old suits and shirts to the Salvation Army. I need to clear up closet space for all the future new suits and shirts I am going to buy from Mr. Kelly from now on.

Very entertaining & good food. My previous Italian tailor retired so I was in the market for a new one. Mr Kelly was recommended to me by my attorney, so I ordered a custom suit and 2 shirts and was highly impressed with the quality, fit and style. It's refreshing to find another old school tailor who is reliable and skilled.
