  1. The variety here is great for egg tart lovers and unlike the crowded Mott Street location, this is the better of the two with ample space and less people.

  1. Don't be fooled, its not the best egg tart in Chinatown (some restaurants serve a little better) but then again its been out of the oven for awhile.

  3. savored its sweet, crispy coating, the sinfully white bread, the coda of a red bean filling.

Best Egg Custards in New York

by Athena Chang , Citysearch Contributor

This Cafe has the best Chinese style Egg Custard you can find in New York. They have Chinese style, Portuguese style, Egg White, Banana Flavor and other varieties.

The trick is the crust; I am convinced they use a lot of butter or shortening LOL They taste amazing and you just cannot say no to egg custards! I recommend trying their Portuguese style egg custard because it is the most buttery one.

They also serve bubble tea and other bakery stuff as well.

REVIEW FROM CITYSEARCH's 3BUCKBITES DICTATOR

by LingboLi

3 giant red bean buns for only $1? Incredible. I savored its sweet, crispy coating, the sinfully white bread, the coda of a red bean filling. I love you, Chinatown, and all your improbably cheap wonders. At this price, I could fill myself with simple carbs for a century.

Worst Customer Service

by Setawbellay

Please do not be fooled by the name Egg Custard KING. I went there for about 3 times during the previous month. During the first visit, I ordered a chicken fried rice and I ended up with a beef fried rice. I thought that the second time there would be better but as I settled down with my friends for a lunch, I saw tons of insects circulating the area. I tired eating there for one last time to see if it was any better but unfortunately, the customer service there was horrible. So we all sat in our seats and it took forever to get someone to take out order. They did not place our table with any water, and we had to eat the whole meal without any water. We watched a pregnant woman having to stand up to get her order and she had to wait for 10 minutes before the worker was finished talking on the phone. Guess when we got our water?! AFTER WE FINISHED OUR PAID THE BILL. and we had to ask for it ourselves. I would definitely not recommend this place and even if you do eat, get take out because you will get the worst customer service possible. The egg custards there are also expensive while other stores have cheaper ones that tastes a bit better. I will never ever ever ever go to this place again!
