Not whiners, but respectable residents (response to whiners post)

Actually, the neighborhood people have been cool to Sweet Paradise. I've talked to many of them and they have all said that when the music gets really loud (where the bass shakes their apartment at 3 am Sunday night) or the smokers get really rowdy, they simply call the bartender and ask if they would notch it down. BUT for the most part, the bartender doesn't do anything or he/she just hangs up on you. I'm born and raised in NYC and have continuously supported the various scenes. The people in the 'hood just want the Sweet Paradise workers to acknowledge that a group of 6 of their customers are screaming ridiculously, pushing one another up and down the street on a rattling, broken office chair like their trying to re-enact a scene from "Jack*ss". It's not whiny to expect that the bouncer or bartender should tell them to chill out. That should be the bar's responsibility. Bar 169, Good World and Les Enfant don't allow their customers to behave that way. They've all been in the 'hood several years before Sweet Paradise showed up. They all have different venues... Bar 169 has live bands, Les Enfant has crazy Euros, and Good World has a knockin' hip-hop party. The one thing that they all understand is that they opened their business in one of NYC's last real neighborhoods...and why not respect that?!. So please don't ask us to move to Brooklyn. NYC-LES is our home, not yours! And be careful of your accusations... it would be whiny of us, if we formed a collective petition with the city to enforce stricter penalties on the numerous noise violations that Sweet Paradise constantly incurs.

Yo, you live in Manhattan. On the Lower East. It gets loud sometimes. Scenes are only ever decent half the time. You want quiet? Move to Brooklyn. Enough already.

Wannabes

The people that hang out at Sweet Paradise are not from the 'hood. They are pseudo-cool, wannabe hipster, trendy skinny jean-wearin' even though they're fat, thinkin' they know what's good music, horrible skateboardin', unintelligible d*cks. That place was never a good spot. And never will be...

The other day one of those idiots got arrested in front of Sweet Paradise at 4:30am on a Wednesday (not sure why). Two police officers used proper and adequate force to put the arrested in the cop car, while the dumb kid was clearly resisting arrest. But to make matters worst; his stupid friend with a stupid neo-mohawk, called 911 and was screaming "they're beating him, they're beating him". Only that kind of attitude comes from that new generation of spoiled kids with a false sense of entitlement. And that kind of false accusation will get him a well deserved ass-kicking!

The owners of Sweet Paradise should really have more respect and courtesy for the residents and the community of the LES.

Odd Reviews

Some of these reviews don't make any sense. There is no B&T crowd at Orchard and Canal - it's Chinatown and there are no other bars around except Clandestino - why would they come? This bar is new, and so far, pleasantly low key. We have needed a cheap bar in the area with LesET, Clandestino, Good World, and 169 all decent, but not really inexpensive.

ROWDY RUDE LOUD OBNOXIOUS CROWD HANGS OUTSIDE BAR

This bar has NO respect for neighbors that reside in the area. The crowd is LOUD and unruly. I can never get any sleep. Either people are screaming their heads off or skateboarding in the middle of the night to the wee hours of the morning.
