A Not So Hidden Gem!
by foodieknowsbest
It was Friday night and I was starving!
Beyond starving!
After walking and walking...and walking...I happened upon Villa Pazzo.
I had wandered around looking for a good meal in a place where I wouldn't be sitting practically on other peoples' laps.
Believe it or not, I walked out of 2 restaurants because of the lousy seating they were offering (think dungeon!)
Not that I'm usually a pain...but its Friday, I'm tired from work and I just want to sit, relax and enjoy a good meal.
I saw Villa Pazzo and checked out the menu, which made me drool!
Not your typical boring menu...this was a foodie's menu!
The seating, service and ambience were all great!
Its a nice spot for a date. There's a romantic ambience, you'll be able to hear your date speak and you won't be rushed out and crowded.
Oh and the food! It was superb. Its been a few days but I'm still fantasizing about my meal. Even the bread they served was spectacular! Good wine list too and the waiters answer all your questions kindly. This is a real Italian restaurant with real Italian food so you'll definitely be trying something new.
I will be returning here as soon as possible!
- Pros: Great food, great service, great ambience!
- Cons: Nothing!
Surprising little place!

I ended up here one night with a friend when we were just bumming around the West Village. We were all definitely in for a surprise! Although it may not have the best look on the outside, the internal ambience, the staff, and the food were all excellent. Not the largest wine list in the world, but the place is relatively small, and they well overcompensate for the lack of wine with their extensive and very delicious menu.
- Pros: Great service! Great Food!
Fantastic

I've been here a few times and the staff always treats us like we're the most important people in the room. The service is great. The food is amazing. Try the carpaccio and the gnocci. Try everything else while you're at it. This place is great for a date, dinner with a friend, or when family is in town. Totally reasonably priced too.
- Pros: right next to the 1/9 train and M20 bus
- Cons: you can't eat Italian 7 nights a week :)
