In Short – From the Chesterfield leather banquettes, dark wood tables, wrought-iron chandeliers and flocked wallpaper in the dining room, to the bar's marble floors, wingback chairs and suspender-clad bartenders, this is the downtown equivalent of an Upper East Side club (minus the membership fee). An unwavering American kitchen partners with a menu of equally classic cocktails (brought to you by mixologist god Dale Degroff), allowing this spot to hold its own among its trendy neighbors.

The service was awful! And yes, Caroline the manager is just RUDE! They don't care, they think they are hot stuff-- and the food isn't good. We were there last Thursday at 7:00 and the place was empty and the serever still could keep up. Not reccommeded. Go somehwere else.
- Pros: Decor
- Cons: Management

Gin Lane offers one of the best dining experiences down in the Meatpacking district by far! Great bar, solid tasty food, and great customer service. It has it all. If your lucky snag a table outside on the patio, or under the roof. Service and atmosphere are better on the weekdays, supposedly the are consistently jammed packed on the weekends. I dont normally write reviews, however I went last Wednesday and had such a great time. Wine list covers all the basics and is affordable. Great addition to the area! Will be back....
- Pros: Patio dining
- Cons: too busy on the weekends.

My husband took me to Gin Lane to celebrate our one year anniversary......so romantic, it was perfect! As a true foodie, I have to admit that he must have been under some pressure: I don't like boring stodgy restaurants, I want to have fun, but I need to have sophisticated food, Gin lane fit the bill. Instead of novel frills, I was very impressed by both the menu and specials, continental staples prepared with fresh ingredients, simple and clean. We started with the Seafood Plateau, standard but grand in portion size, presentation, and what a cocktail sauce! After the seafood, we split a refreshing ice berg wedge salad. For the entrees, my husband devored the surf and turf, and indulged in the duck. Our server Mark was very knowledgable, astute, and genuine. He made the night memorable with a devine chocolate platter for dessert, he even comped it. Aside from the food, the Grapefruit Julep was so good, I think my husband just might start bringing me back to gin lane on a weekly basis!
- Pros: Romantic, great food
