My VERY FAVE Indian Restaurant

i am absolutely addicted to Indigo Indian Restaurant. I order it for delivery at least twice a week and whenever i have guests in town, i always take them to lunch here!! They have the most amazing prix fixe lunch menu which is ridiculously cheap, but you would think you are eating the most expensive Indian food in the world b/c it is TRULY DELICIOUS!!! The chef is Indian and I always tell him that he cooks the best Indian food in all of NYC. If you like spice, ask them to make your dish hot and oh my goodness.......it will make you sweat!! But i love the Indian spices so I usually order it HOT every other time!! If you are on the Upper West Side and you love Indian food, you MUST come eat here!!!
- Pros: prix fixe menu, chicken curry, chana masala, naan!!
- Cons: none!!
My favorite Indian restaurant ever!!

My husband and I are HUGE Indian food fans and we have tried so many places throughout the city, but every single time we say "It's not as good as Indigo." Thank goodness, we live on the Upper West Side, which is where it is located. We order it at least once a week and get it delivered. I get teh chicken curry and he gets something with chick peas, i think Chana Marsala. We also try different appetizers and love everything we've ever ordered. There chicken breast is by far the best with NEVER any fat. It is always the best pieces of chicken. I really cant say enough good things about this Indian restaurant. I absolutley HAVE to eat Indigo every single week.
- Pros: Hands down best Indian Food--Great price
Excellent food and service

I had great service here and the food was delicious! I was there for dinner, but the prix fixe take out menu looked really good too!
- Pros: Great Service and Food
- Cons: Small Restaurant
Not as exceptional.. but quiet nice.

The atmosphere is calm and the staff is friendly and attentive. The food quality was decent, but not as exceptional. The tandoori chicken was just red colored with no flavor. The chicken tikka, although delicious was very sweet and overpowered with tomato taste. Not as authentic of Indian food, but it wasn't bad.
I would recommend it for people who cannot eat much spicy food.
- Pros: Service & Ambience
- Cons: Food Authenticity
