I decided to take my macbook here because its right in the neighborhood. Let me tell you its worth the trip into manhattan and the line at the apple store! They had my computer for 3.5 weeks, whenever I would call to check on the progress they would tell me a different story. On multiple occasions they told me it would be ready at the end of the day, or that the tech would call me back and tell me what was going on, neither of which happened. That was when i could get a hold of them, they don't always answer the phone and its ever harder to get buzzed into the building. and its in gowanus not park slope, its an industrial area, not the most accessable without a car. And they didn't even clean up my computer screen after the repair. don't go there!
Pros: closer
Cons: took extremely long, horrible customer service, unreliable

I have never had a worse customer service experience than I had on my most recent trip here. The day after I dropped my computer off I was told that it had been sent to Apple for repairs and would be back and ready for pick-up in a few days. Great, wonderful - I was pleased it had been sent out so quickly (within 24 hours). However, I was a bit skeptical that I would actually receive a phone call for pick-up as the last time my computer sat there for three days without my knowledge. So this time I was on top of it. Every time I called I was assured my computer would be back soon and to call in a few days. Finally, after six days, on the day I was told it would be back at the "absolute latest," the person who answered the phone told me he had no idea where my computer was and promised to call me back within two hours, after he talked to the tech. Um, excuse me? You LOST my computer? Then why have I been told for the past week that it is at Apple and will be ready for pick-up soon? Three hours later I call and am told my computer has JUST NOW arrived at Apple. Really? It takes six days to ship? What happened to your three day shipping policy? And why was I LIED to about where my computer was and when it was shipped? This is absolutely unacceptable. The worst part about it is that I should have known better from my previous experience, so ultimately it's my fault for returning here. Luckily it was still under warranty so I didn't have to argue with them about how in no way was I going to pay for this "service." Save yourselves the hassle and do not bring your computer here for repairs.
