Editorial Review for Edge – by Katie Heffernan
In Short
A symmetry of chrome and mirrors creates a focused space where clients work at refining their own lines. The gym's two founders--former body-building and power-lifting competitors--believe in balanced, full-body enhancement, and have shaped their gym accordingly. They've chosen the best machines from almost 20 brands and grouped them by level of difficulty, not circuits. Pro-athletes train in one area on rare, advanced machines, while beginners can learn the basics during super-customized private training sessions.

I have been training for 5 years and for the last 2 at EDGE. If you are serious about getting results whether it be improving your fitness, strength, or just interested in being healthy this is the place for you. The best part of the gym is the friendly, non-intimidating atmosphere. The equipment is top-notch, brand new, and clean. The locker room and showers are immaculate. And there is never a wait for the cardio equipment but I am afraid that after writing this review this relatively undiscovered gem on the upper east side might get a little more crowded.
Pros: great atmosphere. almost guaranteed to get results if you join.
Cons: only one location in the city.

I have just started working out at this gym this year, not much previous experience. This has been a great experience and I can't wait to get back there once my current injury has healed. The gym, on 2 floors is very clean and all of the machines are in excellent condition. I have never seen it crowded and the other people who workout, seem very serious and reservedly friendly at the same time. When I have been there without a trainer, if I look a bit confused, someone will come and ask me if I need help without being pushy. The locker room is small but has everything one needs and the gym is perfect, overall.
