What People Are Saying About Neighborhood Barber

Complete with a spinning barber pole and a bench outside to seat customer overflow, this casual downtown spot offers a true neighborhood vibe. Forgoing the fancier grooming shops, men are attracted to this narrow shop's classic look, with headshots framing just four swivel chairs and one faux-leather bench. Still, they'll find some upscale perks: Soothing cucumber creams during hot shaves and facials, as well as neck massages with vibrating gloves.

Love this place
by AvonBarksdale
I pop in this place once every few weeks to trim my mop. I don't have a regular barber here so it's not the same person every time, but am never disappointed.
- Pros: perfect cut, close to my apartment
- Cons: small, busy
Cheap and Consistent
by juniorlo
Been to 3 different barbers at this location and have been completely satisfied with the results. You may have to wait due to the popularity, but the price is right.
- Pros: no nonsense and cheap
- Cons: waiting
Overrated barber shop- very mediocre if that
by Ollie24
The haircut was fine. However, the barber inadvertently cut my neck toward the end of the haircut when shaving my neck area, which caused a scratch with slight bleeding. This is the first time in my whole life this occurred.
- Pros: Standard local barber shop.
- Cons: Hole in the wall barber shop
Nice, but Igor's gone...
by nycwarren
I moved to NYC from LA about 6 months ago and used these reviews to find a great barber. Well I found Igor at Neighborhood Barber, but he left to open a shop of his own. I was bummed. But then I found out he opened up his own place on 1st and 1st (20 1st Ave to be exact), right across the street from my place. How sweet is that? My favorite barber 11 blocks closer to my apartment. Who could ask for more?
