The Scene – There's nothing quite like a holiday in Paris, especially when you're in New York. Appropriately enough, Bastille Day in 2000 marked the grand opening of the first Manhattan home of this upscale French hotel chain. It stands out among its history-laden neighbors as an ultramodern tower grounded by two 20-story limestone wings. The lobby sports a colorful ceiling mural depicting scenes similar to those in the hotel's Gaby restaurant, serving French cuisine with Asian influences. – – The Details – Smoking is on a floor-by-floor basis, a rule covering all 346…

Very nice Hotel
by Davidforestieri
I love this hotel, not only the NY one but all Sofitels. They treat all guests with so much respect and make your stay as easy and enjoyable as they can. If you need a reservation somewhere they will take care of it and reccomment the best places in the city for you to go.
- Pros: Rooms are great and very comfortable
All that pizzaz

I really loved the quiet sophistication of this hotel. The location is
very convenient to Broadway and TS. The bellhops were on point
with taxi and directions. It is a little pricey but the ambiance and
details in the rooms more than make up for the extra coins.
Amazing Hotel

I spent the past weekend in NYC and got a great deal on the Sofitel in NYC. The rooms are spotless, beds are comfortable, options are endless. Also, it is right in Times Square so if you're planning on seeing a show and don't want to walk or spend a fortune on a taxi, stay here!
I would recommend this to anyone looking for an upscale, restful stay in the city.
- Pros: Clean, upscale, restful, amenities
- Cons: price if you don't get a deal on Hotwire, Orbitz, etc.
Great Hotel

I've had a great stay there - large room & bathroom. The room is very clean and the service is friendly. The best part was the bed - it's very soft and comfortable. There's no wireless internet in the room but you can still go online (internet jack provided). I don't remember there being an ethernet cable though so bring your own. Internet is high speed, not dial up. There's also a great but pricey french restaurant if you're hungry.
- Pros: Clean, spacious, friendly service, good location, internet available.
- Cons: No wireless internet
