Worst Service of my Life. Some friends and I were visiting Manhattan and decided to go find some coffee. We walked in and the waitress sat us and immediately told us that if she got busy that she wasn't going to serve us. We just wanted a cup of coffee. My friend asked if there was a card minimum and she said no then after sitting there for over a half hour for 4 cups of coffee, she tells us there is a card minimum and we can't pay with cards unless we eat. She was extremely rude. I would never go there again. The coffee tasted terrible too. I can't even say the food was good.
Good food, poor service. My friend and I stopped here to have lunch. It took about 5 minutes to order drinks, another 5 or 10 minutes to get them (we both ordered water). When our meals finally came (salads) neither one of us like our dressing. Our waitress (nor any other staff memeber) came to see how our food was and if we needed anything else. The place is small -- I said "miss" a few times and tried to make eye contact and she averted her eyes every time. I wouldn't go here unless you have no where to be for a while. My friend enjoyed her dish while mine left much to be desired.
afternoon oasis. I love going here in the afternoon for coffee and a snack; either by myself or with a friend. I've enjoyed everything I've tried-- the salads, the crepes, and the desserts. The place is small and cute and the servers are nice. It also happens to be right next to a great cobbler and the best button store in the world! (Tender Buttons)
BEST CAFE IN NYC. This sanctuary after shopping at bloomies or any nearby shops has been below the radar for quite some time and my girlfriends and my favorite spot for the longest time. Quiet, great food and mood setting music makes this place either an AWESOME break the ice date spot or regular coffee spot. They have wine, and dessert too! Do NOT waste one more second at starbucks and take a leisurely walk to one of the best cafe's in NYC. Our latest obsession is the egg salad sandwich (we add cheddar)... but for those of you who eat meat (I don't) there is a hefty variety of other options!) Ask for the bottle of dressing on the side (I don't know what's in it, but it ROCKS!!)
Bad expeience with online delivery. I ordered with my credit card including a $5.00 tip and the guy came with a cash receipt with a diffrent amount asking for cash payment. Who printed the fake receipt that had diffrent items and a diffrent price? The food was not horrible but I am left suspicious. The 5.00 was clearly included and it was clearly a credit card transaction. Had the receipts been the same I might have seen a margin for error. Otherwise fire the dodgy staff members.
Shhhhhh.. Finally! Someplace where I will not see my co-workers. Located primarily where corporate offices dominate over the residential homes, dining here was such a treat! Someplace to escape Bloomingdale`s dazzled shoppers and the immensly populated Lexington avenue pedestrians. This is your best bet to feel like you're NOT where you really are. However, no matter the look, if the food is terrible, simply said - what a disappointment. This was not the case! Yes, it IS a winner! Savoured every morsel, and portions were just right. Looking around, there were some dishes whose aroma could make your mouth water. Be careful who to bring here because it really is that great of a find.
The only reason I go to the Upper East Side.... I found this place on accident and now bring anyone visiting from out of town here. The sandwiches are amazing (checkout the proscuitto, black mission figs, gorgonzola and rosemary oil panini) and the quality of all their ingredients are top notch. I always finish my meal with a Strawberry and Nutella crepe. A good place for a date.
A Hidden Gem. I was so pleasantly surprised when in the middle of very commerical blocks filled with overpriced, mediocre restaurants I found this quite, pleasant, European-style cafe. The food was very good. Everything was fresh, flavourful and very satisfying. Got the spinach/mushroom cheese crepe- very savoury. Also have nice salads and sandwiches and even though there are only a few wine options, all are quite good.
