Pains me to say this... – because it means I will have to share one of my most favorite NYC secrets but Chelsea Movements is truly a gem. I have been a client for over 6 years and have recommended the studio to many friends over the years who have also become long-term clients. For those of us who need variety and challenge in our workouts but would like to stay slim and toned, there is nothing better than CM and its staff. You can take a class or a private session, stick to Pilates, try out Gyrotonics or any combination of the above and you are guaranteed a workout that is fun (honestly) and still feels like you "did" something. And they're friendly! I can't say enough good things and will keep coming back (until word gets out of course and I can't get a spot!)
Best Pilates Studio in Chelsea – I've been going to Chelsea Movements since 2005 and have never been stronger in my life. Its definitely a calm, down-to-earth environment where all the instructors are friendly and professional. Taking privates and classes there have transformed my body. I don't think I really knew what core strength was before being properly introduced to Pilates here. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to add a dynamic dimension to their workout regimen.

Fitness at its Best – Reading the other reviews for Chelsea Movements, I found myself in agreement. This is a fantastic studio and far more effective than my lifetime routine of 3 weight training/3 cardio workouts over the past 20 years.
The instructors are the BEST. They focus on you... and your objectives are confirmed by the results. Personally, they exceeded my expectations and exceeded the results I've had with any other personal trainer. I've gained strength, improved my posture, lost inches where I wanted, and met and maintained my ideal weight since I started going 8 months ago.
It's a warm and inviting studio, and I am thrilled it was recommended to me by a co-worker. One of the best things i have done for myself in years. This studio has given me a new take on fitness. I walk in with one attitude and walk out feeling rejuvenated.

A real workout – This studio has pilates, the magic pelvis and gyrotonic. All have worked my inner core and the gyro has helped my spine. My back feels straighter, and it is the ONLY exercise I've ever done where my lower back won't ache or spasm. One of my friends even noticed that I'm walking taller.
A great gym alternative – I was an avid gym goer and after several years of complete burnout from the same old routine I decided to give Pilates and Gyrotonic a try.
It has completely changed my body. Instead of leaving me tired at the end of my workout (as was the case at the gym) Pilates and Gyrotonic leaves me with more energy than I could imagine.
There is something for everyone at this studio. I started off with privates and then was soon able to incorporate classes into my schedule. The personalized attention is great. Give it a try and see what you have been missing!
Fantastic instructors & personalized service in an intimate environment – I started going to Chelsea movements to help with weight loss and back pain. It was the best move I could have made. My trainer (Chris) is the best! She has a broad understanding of the individual needs and is able to connect with me and convey complex terminology with ease. I always understand what she is talking about.
The owners are also fantastic. 48 hours prior to an appointment, they email a confirmation reminder, allowing for plenty of time to cancel without penalty.
I can't say enough about my experience at Chelsea movements and working with Christine. I highly recommend this to novices and experienced pilates devotees alike!
