“Really friendly people and good to talk to.”
“Other cobblers often don't even bother and you end up with clunky and thick shoes that can ruin an expensive look.”
The best not just downtown in the city!. I've been going to Minas for years and they've worked on all types of my shoes-from boots-heels-flats- to sandals, and they always look like brand new after visiting Minas.
Fabulous, Fabulous, Fabulous - I LOVE Mina.
Situation: Two Dolce and Gabbana heals that had both broken. I had been to many shoe repair places but to no avail. No ONE WOULD TOUCH THEM. They told me that they were unrepairable. I just couldn't believe it and as much as I paid for them, I wasn't taking "no" for an answer. So I scoured the internet looking for someone who would tell me "yes, I can fix them!"
Solution: Mina.
Result: They were returned, repaired and they are beautiful. I am ECSTATIC!
If you have any designer shoes to be repaired - send them to Mina. Not only did he fix my shoes - he was exceptionally easy to work with and talk to! Highly, Highly recommended!
Fantastic Work!.
I had gotten some stains on one of my Marc Jacobs bags. I had no idea where to go and someone recommended Minas. Although it took about 2 weeks, they completely cleaned and recolored the whole bag to look like new! He actually hand painted/brushed on the color. I am so impressed with the way the bag looks. You can't even tell where it was stained!
I'll be bringing my shoes to him next!
Magic touch of "Minas".
Minas & all of his staff really know how to deal with all kind of shoes!! I brought a couple of my dance shoes last week to them for the very first time. The ankle straps of my shoes are way too long, need to be cut & re-stiches because my ankles are way to small. It took them only about 10 minutes to make them perfect!
My sister who came along w/ me was complaining to Minas how NY's cobblestones street has torn the leather from the front part of her shoes. While his staff working on my shoes, Minas took hers and fix it for free!
Really friendly people and good to talk to.
MIinas is THE BEST. He's a real professional cobbler with a talented staff of workers. And he's one of the nicest men you will ever meet. What's not to like? So if you live in FiDi head for Mina's shop for superior shoe repair. If you don't live downtown, it's worth the trip to save your soul, pun intended.
not the cheapest, but definitely the best.
I found a pair of Jimmy Choo knee highs that were too narrow at the instep (my left heel was sticking out a little bit) and too small at the shaft (the zippers only went mid-calf), but too beautiful to pass. I wouldn't have trusted them to just any cobbler, so I found Minas through this page. The old gentleman was very friendly and helpful. He took my measurements and I paid $100 for the stretching. They fitted perfectly when I tried them on one week later! Before I left, he also have them shined carefully. I was very, very happy.
I happened to have another old pair of tall boots that I used to squeeze in but can no longer do it after a baby. So I went to a cobbler near my office. Charged only $20 for the stretching. I already went back twice and still could not fit them in. Well, they were old. Just let him experiment.
Minas is not cheap, but for the pairs you really love, they are definitely worth it.
Best cobbler ever.
I love Minas (not Mina's) Shoe Repair so much that I created an account on Cityserach just to be able to sing their prasies. They do fantastic work, are quick and inexpensive. Other cobblers charge so much that you may as well buy a new pair of shoes. At Minas Shoe Repair, I can get a pair fixed for $10.
You walk in and see a photo over the counter of a young cobbler in Greece. You look up and an old, white-haired man hobbles out. That's a lot of experience! Even though I no longer work in the financial district, it's worth traveling there for shoe errands.
Best Shoe Repair in New York. I worked in Lower Manhattan for 6 years and now work in Midtown - I did not know how great Mina's was till I got lazy and tried other cobblers closer to my new place of work. They do not even come close, in terms of attention to detail and quality of work. Mina's put Vibram soles (for traction) on my dress shoes but instead of simply slapping them on like other cobblers would, they trimmed down the original sole so that with the new soles, the profile of the shoe would be exactly the same as before. Other cobblers often don't even bother and you end up with clunky and thick shoes that can ruin an expensive look.
Hands Down BEST Cobbler in New York. Minas Shoe Repair is one of the best things that came to Manhattan. Located in the heart of the Financial District, Minas knows shoes from the Executive perspective. Surrounded by stores like Hermes, Tiffany's, and BMW, Minas knows the style of the discerning gentleman. Having custom designed shoes for some of the world's most scrutinous customers, I found Minas through a recommendation from a friend. I brought him my favored pair of Allen Edmonds shoes that were discontinued. Thinking I had to throw them out, I came to Minas for a second opinion and, like a good doctor, he performed some magic on my shoes that turned my tired, worn, but loved shoes into something you could almost display in a storefront. He is THAT good! He basically completely reconstructed the shoe from scratch, replacing all of the worn, thin leather and completely reconditioning and polishing my shoes to the point where they are as good as new but actually BETTER THAN NEW since they are already broken in and accustomed to my feet. Minas knows the art AND science of cobblery and I feel lucky to have discovered him.
Best shoe reapir store in New York City. Walking down the streets of New York City can be rough on your stillettos. With the golden touch of Minas shoe repair , when I break a heel, or have a broken strap on my shoe/sandals; I am able to have my shoes repaired and ready to take back on the streets of New York.
