Horrible!!!. I thought the reveiws written would have been a good guide, but they did everything opposite. THEY DOUBLE-DIPPED in front of for my brazilian wax, even though they told they don't do that before entering the room. I had to tell the lady NO, when she said you have to pay extra for no double dipping where you buy your own can!!! Geez, what happended to basic sanitary service and why do I have to pay for that cleanliness. I felt this was morally and ethically wrong of them to charge me for something that should be my right. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!! You should try YUVA on 35th Street, whose staff is much friendlier, polite, and who give you clean and sanitary service no matter what price you pay, as they do believe every customer deserves that!

As painless as possible bikini wax, low prices for Manhattan, clean.. I go to Unique once a month for my bikini waxing and it varies between Brazillian and French/Deep Line depending on the season. They are always incredibly courteous, clean, and quick! $35 for a brazilian is very reasonable...plus the women talk to you during it (start a conversation about anything - the weather, how busy/not busy they are, where they live, etc), which makes it less awkward/painful, since it gets your mind off of the actual procedure. It never takes longer than 15 minutes. If you get the Sugar-based (non-chemical) wax, it is much less irritating, especially if you have sensitive skin. It just costs a little more. Also, in terms of "double-dipping" and other sanitary concerns (which one reviewer mentioned), you can ask for them to use a separate stick for each application, it just tacks on an additional $10 to the price. A better idea is just to reserve/purchase your own tub of wax for a lump sum of $25 and they keep it stored away for you. That way NO ONE else uses your wax. Adding these additional costs may seem steep, but if you think about it, a typical wax in NYC is usually $75-90, so it's not too bad. They always ask afterwards if I want my eyebrows done, but I give them a polite "no thank you" and that's the end of that.

Low prices usually mean average service. The prices on the website seem to be different than the actual prices in the salon. As for the employees...they are courteous, but I wouldn't go so far to say they are friendly.

Excellent service !!! Quick, affordable, clean and as painless as possible........ I have been to Unique Threading Salon several time. Their Brazilian bikini with sugaring are EXCELLENT. A bikini wax is never going to feel good....but these girls seem to be experts at making it as tolerable as possible. Trust me, I've been around this place and always happy with my waxing and threading also . And most important thing is the price is a great so affordable . the end result was perfect. i've been getting brazilian bikini wax for years and this was by far the best. i will definitely be regular at unique

Great place to get a Brazilian!. I've been to this location several times and they never fail to disappoint. Staff is friendly and knows what they're doing. They do a great job and the prices are excellent. Highly recommend.

Doesnt even deserve 1 star. I went in there a couple of times for eyebrow threading (giving them the benefit of the doubt)...wrong thing to do. they made my eyebrows so thin and uneven. So then, i decided, let me give them a chance at waxing. So i went in there for a brazilian...what a horrible thing to do. First off, SHE DID NOT USE GLOVES. Second, she kept dipping the same wax stick into the wax!!! I was so grossed out. Then she just POURED BABY OIL on me. She didnt even get all the hairs, i had to go home and shave. She did a horrible job, She didnt pull the hair from the roots so in a few days i have to shave again! MY MAIN CONCERN, IT IS NOT CLEAN AND SANITARY DO NOT GO THERE FOR BRAZILIANS. It was so disgusting. In this case...you get what you pay for :(

don't go for a brazilian wax!!!. I only got a brazilian here so I do not know how their other services are.

Here was my experience:

1) I noticed the price outside for a wax was $25. The website said $30. The sign in the wax room said $30 and up.

2) I asked for a sugar wax. Somehow they convinced me to get the chocolate wax, which was $40.

3) I asked the woman to wear gloves, and she said no. That's sanitary..yeah riiiight.

4) I asked for a cold compress bc it was burning, she said no.

5) I still have to shave when I got home.

6) At the end, she gave me baby oil to wipe on myself. She couldn't do it?

7) I had to spend 30 min at home trying to off the wax.

Mind you, this was my 1st brazilian wax...bad experience!!! :(

best threading place in nyc. i'm very particular about my eyebrows and this place satisfies even picky ol' me. :) I get my eyebrows threaded here every 2 weeks. They are very friendly and very quick. The 23rd and 8th location isn't very busy, maybe because people aren't aware of it. Whatever the reason, you can literally get in and get out in 15 minutes or less. Eyebrow threading is $6, lip is $4

Wonderful. i first went there about 3 and a half years ago for my first eyebrow threading experience. they got me to switch over from waxing and my eyebrows have never looked better. although everytime i walk in there it seems like the staff of women is completely different, and i frequent there about once every 6 weeks. once in a while you'll get a threader who'll shape them too thin or make them into some odd shape but you just have to make a mental note to avoid them the next time you go back. there is usually a particularly long wait for 2 specific threaders who everyone requests so a lot of times the other threaders will be sitting around not doing anything while a line of 10 girls waits for one or two particular women. their brasilian waxes are also the best i've ever gotten in the city. it even beat the one i got while in Brasil, and you know they don't mess around when it comes to hair on those regions. try their sugar wax over their standard wax, it's only a tad bit extra but is a great formula and gentle on the skin. they are very professional too and do a great job without taking too long and bordering on uncomfortable while minimizing pain. and they'll make sure that the wax is not too hot and avoid that whole awkward blowing the hot wax while it is on your body to cool it down.

but definitely go to them for all your hair removal needs. they are great and the value is superb. haven't tried the other facial or henna services but i may in the future.
