Really great experience

Ok. I've had my hair cut by the same person for years. But it was an emergency situation and someone suggested that I try out the student salon. It was a great experience and not only am I crazy happy with my cut, I'm definitely going back.
I'm not gonna say it was a salon experience- but they're students. The girl who cut my hair came out to the front, was really sweet and professional, we talked about what I wanted and she took me to the back. She was really cautious and slow- the cut took over an hour. She spent a lot of time on things that go quickly in real salons like washing my hair and making sure the cuts were even. But the cut turned out great and there are instructors coming around making sure you get what you want. It's not the same as going to a salon where you know you're getting quality. This is a gamble, and I'm sure some people walk away unhappy. I think if you're clear about what you want and you don't have impossible expectations, this is a great experience and it's definitely on budget.
Try it- it's so cheap and it's nothing you can't fix. Besides you give the students experience and you get to chill in a great environment full of amazingly fantastic people who really love what they do. Ask for Erica S- she'll do an amazing job.
- Pros: Great people, great price, great cut.
- Cons: You gamble- it could be great or it could be tragic. You won't know until you get there.
bad technique

I had THE worst hair cut ever... To begin with, they ran out the hot water when she was washing my hair (she told me that it happens often!) and they don't use a towel to dry your hair - just paper towel (she told me that's a sanitary reason). And the person who dealt with my hair didn't know what she was doing at all, she needed her teacher's help from the beginning to the end. My hair is so uneven, I look like a ten year old kid now. I ahd to go fix it somewhere else... Don't go.
- Pros: just $8 and change for a hair cut but it's not worse it
- Cons: too many
