“Great jewelry and customer service”
“above average quality jewelry in a pleasant location; worth browsing through their small, but quality-filled store.”
I have never experienced anything but professionalism and honesty and integrity by Ray and his staff. They go out of their way to please you, even volunteering to design the jewelry you want. I have bought over 50 watches from them, and have always been completely satisfied. I can say all this because I have been a customer for over 7 years, and shop there regularly. I have never seen a displeased or disgruntled person come into the store, nor have I ever experienced anything other than honesty in all my years dealing with Ray. One of the reasons I shop there is BECAUSE they are honest, reliable and stand by anything they sell. And when I recommend Ray's to my friends, HONESTY is what I stress. Never has any one of my friends complained about him, or gone anywhere else after doing business at Ray's Midtown Jewelry.
I went to this store on Monday
11/26/2012 and saw an alleged Movado watch I liked for my boyfriend for Christmas. The sales representative said the watch went for $2,500 on Movado's site but, because it was a Christmas gift and because he got it for a deal, he would give it to me for $999. I told him I would think about it. I went to Movado's site and could not find the watch anywhere.
I went back today, 11/28/2012 and asked to look at the watch. I started to examine it and the dealer said he called Movado, that the watch sells for $1,450 on the site, and that he confirmed that it was on the site that very morning. I went to the Movado site in his presence and searched for the watch; I found one that was similar (but none that were exact matches), and the dealer tried to convince me it was the same (even though the watch band is totally different and the face has differences). Then I searched the Movado serial number he gave me for the watch and found nothing on the site. When I searched the same serial number (0605323) on google I got many hits to the same watch he had in his store, all selling for between $150-200 dollars. I showed him this and he reiterated that the watch was genuine and on Movado's site, despite the fact that neither of us could locate it (because it was not there) when we went on earlier. This store not only lied about the authenticity of their product to me (and have probably done so to countless other individuals), they also tried to charge me $1,000 for a watch that sells online for one tenth that amount. These type of practices are horrible, and I am saddened to think what this store will try to do to unknowing shoppers during the impending holiday season unless something is done about them and their practices.
Great jewelry and customer service.
Ray is my neighborhood jeweler and when I need an occasional "treat", I'll pop in to see what he has. For a small store, he has a wide selection, ranging from fun silver to expensive diamonds - all very fairly priced.
Ray is a pleasure to deal with and he and his associates always treat you feel like a friend.
Interesting assortment of jewelry. above average quality jewelry in a pleasant location; worth browsing through their small, but quality-filled store.
