Misleading Return Policy ?.
Tr-State's Return Policy:
"Tri-State is committed to your satisfaction...... Parcels returned with missing parts or packaging inserts, etc. etc. ......will be subject to a 15% restocking fee....."
Does that statement imply to you that if you complied with their conditions TO THE LETTER, there will be no restocking fee?
It sure did to me. Had I know that it is actually false and/or misleading I never would have made the purchase from them.
After returning a camera, and many inquiries complaining that they shouldn't have charged me a restocking fee since I complied with their Return Policy EXACTLY as they requested (see photo), this was their response:
(By the way, most inquires were simply ignored and their replys looked like a 12 year old wrote them.)
Here's what they said and I'm quoting here...."You must understand that there's a restocking fee NO MATTER HOW we get the parts."
You won't find that statement ANYWHERE in their Return Policy which sets conditions for a return "or else". That's the only way to read it, so BEWARE !!!
A box of say 10 items worth $30.00 total will cost you $3.00 for them to put the items back on 10 different shelves. But an $800.00 camera will cost you $80.00 for them to put that one item back on the shelf, even if all they had to do was to re-wrap the camera and do nothing else.
I hope this will save you some money. You have been warned !
