AMAZING Hair COLOR ARTIST!!!!!!!. I found Lisa Harrington, the AMAZING owner and hair color expert on the internet. I was impressed by the other reviews, and after creating a "hair color disaster" of my own by trying to "save money"....... my hair which is naturally dark brown now looked orange, red and black!!!

Lisa's extraordinary skills both in creating a "hair color prescription plan" and explanations as to how the task would be accomplished, were both precise and easily understood by the "color-challenged"!!!!

Her knowledge and energy are equally matched by her warm and welcoming personality.

The salon has a fabulous vibe, no surprise......Lisa clearly created a milieu that is client friendly......just like herself.

RUN, RUN, RUN here even if you don't have a "color correction issue". You will receive outstanding color, and care from this incredible hair expert!!!

Beach Hair-Handled!. Lisa gives great color. I'm not kidding. I've been going to her for 4 years now and I had to take a break due to travel. She masterfully manipulated my many-colored head back to a ravishing beachy blond.

Wow, I'm a natural blonde for the first time in my life!. I never write reviews (and at the risk of sharing the best kept secret for hair color in Manhattan), I am writing to say that after years of trying some of the best salons on both coasts -- I finally have the very natural blonde I always wanted to be at Ruby 6 with the talented owner, Lisa.

I have always had dry, semi-curly hair that just doesn't ever take color or highlighting the way hairstylists have intended -- and certainly doesn't hold it. Blonde always ended up brassy and monochromatic for me, and I lived with it because I didn't think it could be better after years of trying. Lisa takes the time to give an accurate assessment of any issues she sees, and then will put her all into it. I'm never rushed, she takes the time to do what's right for my hair. And to my amazement, it LASTS -- color looks just as good down the road as the day I leave the salon -- a very natural, subtly blended blonde that fits my features and doesn't wash me out. I can go longer between touch-ups b/c the contrast is no longer so stark when my roots grow in -- a big plus!

Relaxing environment. Intimate and comfortable. Everyone very friendly. A+++++

AMAZING COLORIST!!. I have been going to Lisa and Deana for 10 years now and they both did wonders on fixing what someone else screwed up. I love going to the salon. They are like family and I always enjoy catching up with everyone. Big Kiss to Ruby 6!

A true artist. Lisa really knows her color and pays attention to every detail to your needs. I was referred to her by a friend and ever since then, my locks are indebted to her. I am particular about the shade of red that I am. I cannot express how many times I stressed to other colorists that I wanted a coppery, prescription bottle like color. I always came out with a red that was too mahogany. When I went to Lisa, she nailed it the first time. She really knows her craft. She takes the time to make sure that you are getting the results that you need. So worth the trip to the East Village!

Lisa can fix anything. After a disastrous series of at-home dye-jobs, I booked a consultation with Lisa, hoping against hope she could undo the damage. Not only was she willing to (patiently!) spent hours on my stubborn hair, but the result was sheer magic -- Lisa transformed me from an in-a-rut brunette to a head-turning red-head. My self-confidence, both personally and professionally, has never been better. She's also able to adjust my shade in whatever way I'd like, whether it's to match my natural coloring or to brighten things up for a red-carpet event. Add me to the growing list of Lisa-lifers.

The BEST Color in town. I'm kind of a hair snob. I have been getting my hair colored by Lisa for about 8 years now. I have been a bright blonde, to a brunette, and my color always looks natural, healthy, and well done. Ruby 6 has a fun young vibe. I have seen everyone there from "Lower East Side Punks", to "Brooklyn Hipsters", to "Upper East Side Preps", and every one leaves happy and comes back again and again. It's affordable and always what I want. All I have to say is...do not pass go do not spend $200.00, and don't waste your time looking anywhere else!

Highy Recommend. I have had Lisa do many different looks with my hair and each time they are exactly what I had wanted, but better. I always get complimented for how natural my hair looks and she is a master at mixing colors to come out with the most complimentary shades.

Best Place for Color. I first found Lisa / Ruby 6 through a recommendation from a friend/co-worker. I had been to many of the top NYC salons before and was spending obscene amounts on my blonde highlights...I must say that Lisa does the most amazing job EVER. I get tons of compliments on my color and I am always so thrilled with the results...she uses many colors to achieve the natural blonde look that I like...it's also a pleasure to spend time at the salon because you get amazing service and it's comfortable...you never feel rushed and always get the best service. I'm never going to go anywhere else!!!

I also get my hair cut here with Seij, he does a wonderful job as well.

Great Salon; great colorist. I wandered in about 3 years ago and have been going regularly even since. She listens to what I say, explains what she is doing and has consistently offered great suggestions. Her prices are INCREDIBLY reasonable given her level of talent and experience. You will not be disappointed.
