One of the things I miss the most.
I recently moved from NYC to LA. This place is one of the things I miss the most about the move. There is no Brian or Johnny at any of the bars here, they are the best bartenders on the planet. I used to live within walking distance of this place on 85th and would pop in 3 or 4 times per week. If you want a good gamble and are good at backgammon ask one of the guys for a game.
Truly just the best bar in town. Definitely check it out. I dragged friends from all over the city, including Brooklyn to this place and they all loved it.
Great neighborhood bar. By far and away the best neighborhood bar I've ever been to. Its a perfect place to get together with your friends and catch up. The bartenders are very friendly and seem to know everyone at the bar. Drink prices are very reasonable and the jukebox provides great music all night. Can't go wrong with this place.
Worth the trip to 1st Ave. Friendly bartenders; happy crowd singing along to the jukebox; a good neighborhood pub. And they have a Galaga machine!
Friendly Neighborhood Bar; Great People. The Gaf (East) is a New York take on an Irish pub; darts in the back, tables up front, a great juke box and decent beer selection. The Cork-born bartenders pour one of the best Guinesses in town. Friendly local crowd early, young professional crowd later in the evening. Makes the trip to 1st Avenue well worth it.
