Best Hair Salon in the Bronx. The review from the disgruntled customer is ridiculous on so many levels! I have been going to this salon since the day it opened and I know that if a customer is not happy with a cut, color or anything else the hair stylists in this salon bend over backwards to make the person happy. I've come back a few days later when I wanted a slight change, thought my color was too dark or whatever and they took care of it NO PROBLEMS!!!!

This place treats their customers like they were members of their own family. And, the entire staff is very talented. Yetta, the owner is always there to help when is necessary and to work out any issue with any customer.

All I ever get is compliments about my hair - "I wish I could get your color", "Love your cut".

5 stars ABSOLUTELY.

Couldn't be further from the truth. I was APPALLED to read the negative review about A Touch of Sun Hair salon. As a staunch client of theirs since their opening 4 1/2 years ago I am deeply troubled that someone could write such venomous lies about their salon. The entire staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. I always come away from the salon having had my hair cut, colored and my spirit uplifted by these wonderful people. VIVE A TOUCH OF SUN!

An amazing place. I'm shocked by the review written below. A Touch of Sun is one of the nicest, most friendly salons I have ever been to. The owner is a caring and experienced stylist who would be personally devastated if she knew someone was unsatisfied with their result. She would be the first person to fix anything that was wrong either with a cut or a color. The place is like a little family with top notch stylists and friendly customer service. I don't know what happened with the person below but it's almost as if she's talking about another place because everything she said about A Touch of Sun seems completely unbelievable. I would highly recommend A Touch of Sun to everyone.

Best Place in Town!. This little salon always makes me feel like a million bucks. The staff is constantly asking what you need, if you're ok, and giving extra little perks like neck/back massage and scalp massage. As far as cuts and color go, look no farther, this is THE PLACE! They are attentive, and will never let you leave without looking your absolute best!

A wonderful hair salon!. I'm sorry to read the previous review because it is so contrary to my years of receiving excellent cuts and color at this salon. Yetta, the senior stylist, is always interested in my hopes for a haircut-- shorter or just a "dusting" to let it grow--and that's what I get. And she is the only colorist, after years of searching, who follows my desire for highlights only on the roots to provide a natural look as it grows out and avoids light blonde ends. I love her artistry and skill, and call her a magician.

I always feel the friendly, respectful attitude of all the people who work there. Also, it is I who asks about new products and is never pushed to buy anything.

I highly recommend this salon, especially the work of Yetta.

Can't color, cut or give customer service. Just came back from there and had a HORRIBLE experience. I normally don't treck all the way to the Bronx for a haircut but I got a great deal through groupon that I THOUGHT would have made the trip worth it.

Little background. I've never gone to a professional colorist although I've colored my hair myself for the past 7 years. I've dyed it blond, red and brown ...so I know what to expect from a bottle. I have been a blond for the past 5 years and toyed around with going back brown but wanted it done right so I figured I'd let these guys handle it.

I booked for 10 am on a Sunday. At first it went well. They were polite and courteous and confirmed my appointment the previous day.

I told the woman about how the coloring of my hair has gone. I said I wanted to go back brunette but didn't want dark brown (the Adam's family look isn't for me). I prefered more of light chestnut. I got nervous when she brought out the book b/c that just seemed too point and click not something I'd think a professional would need to do. She plucked out a sample and confirmed that is what I wanted. I asked her to dye my eyebrows as well.

She put the dye in set a timer and walked away. My nerves settled in more once she came back after 15 min to remove the dye on my brows....they were BLACK. I told her immediately that's not what I wanted it was waaaay too dark. She tried to convince me it was fine (I thought it looked comically bad) but if I really wanted she could lighten them. ...ok. I knew it wouldn't change later so after another 15 min my hair was washed and she put lightener on my brows.

My hair was ....BLACK!!! What the hell!!! NOT what I wanted. I figured I'd tough it out to let her cut it ...after all sometimes a good cut can make all the difference.

My hair didn't need a major cut. I already had an asymmetrical bob wakling in but wanted more of an angle coming from the back to the front. I didn't NEED a hairbut but wanted a slightly different look. That's exactly what I did NOT get!! She lessened the angle instead of making it sharper.

I know she must have known I wasn't happy b/c it read on my face. She didn't even ask me if I liked my hair!!! She just said pay up front and ran out of the room. WHAAAAAT??? I told the receptionist I wasn't happy and she stammered out an apology (I felt bad for her ...it wasn't her fault).

Now I'm at home dying my hair merely hours later. Oh and to top it off first I had to clean the left over dye left on my scalp. I shouldn't have more skills than a professional and even if I didn't I know poor customer service when I see it.

I will NEVER go back there again ...and even more unfortunately I don't know when I'll ever have the nerve to try to go back to brown again after seeing how appalling I looked.

A home away from home. When I walk into A Touch of Sun I feel as if i am home- The staff is so warm and friendly. The best of all is that you walk out looking your absolute best. I have had the best color, haircuts and Keratin treatments ever! Also you can't beat this salon for special occasion services along with waxing and threading- I never want to leave!

A No-Stress Hair Salon With Top Shelve Results. I first went to A Touch of Sun at the recommendation of a friend who liked the way they cut her hair. I was so well treated, given attention, respect, and always asked if I wanted tea, a soda next door, or something to eat. They do have a great selection of make-up, and haircare products. I had a "Keratin" treatment done and along with the advice, my hair has been long and easy to take care of. Just one simple ingredient I have to avoid in haircare products. They have a wonderful location and there is plenty of parking and bus service.

Great cuts and color!. I first tried the Hairtique Salon when on a Sunday I was desperate for a haircut, and there I found Vicky. I have been going back to Vicky ever since, and have received consistently excellent haircuts and styling, and more recently the best hair coloring I can remember ever getting. Vicky strives for perfection and insists on it. The salon's atmosphere is pleasant and very comfortable.
