OMG, I recall this place from my high school days, when it was like the only pub-type place in Westchester that didn't card you if you had a bottle of Giacobazzi. But now, decades later, I have mellowed and so has Isabella's. Now I love the mozzarella salad and the delicious lamb shank. You can't go wrong here. Great service, superb food, and the satisfaction that you know you are patronizing a local joint.
Decent food but pricey.
Was in the area and saw this place among the list of restaurants. Took a look at their menu online and thought I'd give it a try. Called in my order and the person on the phone was kind of rude. When I came in, first person that "greeted" me was this gruff waiter, perhaps the same person on the phone ...
Well to my order, I got the Pollo alla Caprese and the Calamari, which I think is a basic gauge of an Italian restaurant. Both items were decent, but nothing special, the pollo was the better of the two. Since going here, I discovered there are quite a few excellent Italian restaurants, not too far in Elmsford. One of them is Rini's, which I think has better food, better prices and a friendlier staff, just not quite the ambiance.
Great Atmosphere, Great Service. We went on a Saturday night and there was no wait. We sat right down at a great table next to the window. It was very romantic. The service was wonderful. Our food came out within 5 minutes of ordering. It was so delicious and filling. The portions are large too, which makes it not so bad to spend $15-$20 for pasta. It's very pretty inside too. A great place for a couple!
A great place to meet friends and learn about cooking.
I have attended 3 "meetup" events at this restaurant which consisted of cooking
recipes and then eating the result. The Vegetable Lasagna and
Penne Ala Norma is outstanding. The place is cozy and intimate and the hosts Tino
and Rocco are delightful personable Italian gentleman. Most recently, I was given
instruction on how to stretch out pizza dough and was able to top my own pizza and
eat it fresh out of the oven. When you see Rocco behind the bar, you may think,
what a fun bartender he is. He doesn't have an attitude and loves to get creative
with his mixology. He recently made hubby and I a Long Island Iced tea with a secret ingredient that made it so smooth and mellow.
