Seedy and trashy neighborhood eyesore. This place routinely attracts underage thugs especially on weekends. Adjacent restaurant was closed down by health department a few weeks ago. It's low-class trash. Full-on brawl right outside involving 30 people a few weeks back. Cops were called last weekend. This place needs to go, it doesn't belong in the quiet Astoria neighborhood it's in. Update your reviews CitySearch!

closed by health dept. closed by health dept then reopened under another name. Sure it is the same operator/owners. Now called Mugshots. Not sure it is worth the risk.

Awesome high def TV's. This place is a lot of fun to watch any sort of a sports game. There are die hard fans there on Sundays watching football. The food is really good. I found out that the owners of the bar took over the restaurant next door too. They have bar food and steaks and salads too. I went with my girlfriend and she had more fun than I did. The drink specials are pretty good. I would definitely recommend this place to go with friends.

Great place to watch football. I recently went to Remote and new owners took over. They also took over the restaurant next door and the food was really good. The food was like Applebee's type food, but much fresher. You could tell it wasn't frozen stuff they were just frying. There was a digital juke box that played any song you wanted to hear, and the drinks were reasonably priced. The place was recently renovated with all new flat screen TV's, and the bathrooms were clean which was a plus. I had a great time and would recommend it to anyone looking to go out and get a few drinks...and some good food too.

Awful & stinky. Stopped in to meet some friends and had to leave after 1 minute. The smell of sewage and locker room hits you in the face after opening the front door. A friend ordered a bud andsaid it tasted like foot water.

keep it Remote. If what you are looking for is a bar where everyone is really loud and night invariably ends with a fight or an argument outside of the bar, that is the place for you.

Cheap bad drinks, awful people, disrespectful people!

You will be better off in any of the other bars around. There are a few, walking distance with better drinks and people that are not likely to jump on your throat just because you looked once their way.

Local Astoria hangout with 16 TVs and nightly drink deals.. In Short
The corner bar caters to long-time neighborhood residents, and though it has a sports bar theme--and certainly enough TVs--it lacks the boys'-club mentality. It's a bar where friendly locals are likely to chat up newcomers, and at certain hours of the day, Patti La Belle's version of "Somewhere over the Rainbow" may drown out the televised sports. Photos of famous baseball players line the walls, and drinkers can do a little sporting of their own at the pool table, dart board and a few arcade games.
