James is the Michaelangelo of coiffeurs!!!. Im usually very skeptical when it comes to letting others put their hands in my delicate girly areas. (MY HAIR PEOPLE!!!) and so its been a while since ive been to any salon, but before I even walked in I was impressed. Hell, before I even made my appt I was impressed.

James, THE hair guy there was so friendly, communicative, detail oriented, precise, intriguing and creative. You can tell just by his words that he has a true passion for what he does. I wasnt just another job to him. And he was genuinely interested in making my hair as beautiful as possible. It was the best job ive ever had done on my hair. Hands down. He was even more amazing on set for our photoshoot, taking care of details that he wasnt even in charge of. From the lighting, to clothing, jewelry, makeup and nails, he was on top of every detail so you know he has a great eye for particularities.

So onto the salon... as I approached, all i could see were HUGE windows primely located right on 5th ave. But not the snooty part, closer to the more chilled back union sq area, so it made for a nice blend. Because he treats the hair like a true professional but is so chill and relaxed at the same time. Music, graffiti, glass art hanging, along with self installed blowdryers coiling down from the ceiling with ease...

Ive never seen anything like it! I was blown away, and still to this day, refer him to ALL my friends, family, i was even inspired to help promote his salon by screaming out the window 'COME TO NV SALON IF YOU WANT BEAUTIFUL HAIR!'. not the most appropriate, but hey, lighten up its just fashion! : )

Great for personalized hair care. James is an amazing stylist. He is friendly and really talented at what he does. You must try the brazilian straightening for summer. It gives you perfect frizz free hair that can withstand the worst NYC heat wave. I came out of an intense yoga class during 95 degree weather with no AC or windows open with no frizz in sight. I usually emerge with an unsightly afro. The prices are reasonable and you will be assured to get his full attention. It's also on one of the best shopping blocks in the city, so you can multitask after your weekly appt, should you be so obsessed. Everyone who goes is addicted to his genuis with their hair!

Delightful experience from start to finish.. Today I just had my first haircut there with Kanna. Kanna was sweet and delightful as she patiently listened to my expectations for a hair miracle. I had finally gotten the nerve up to cut nearly 10 inches off my hair and go from long to short in one visit. Kanna's magical hands tamed my unruly hair and her sweet personality totally made me forget about my nervous jitters. When she was done cutting and styling, I felt like I had always had short hair. Tracy, a staff member, was delightful too since she sensed my nervousness. I had the pleasure of meeting James, the owner of the funky cool salon who was charming as well. Bottom line...great haircut, talented stylists, nice atmosphere and staff. I can't wait to go back although my friends told me that Kanna's haircut will keep its shape for quite some time.

James really is the best.... James is an amazing hairstylist. He listens to your opinions and ideas but has plenty of his own if you are interested. He also takes his time and treats each person as if they are his number one client. I have not gone anywhere else since getting my hair cut with James! Try him!

James is Brilliant!!. Honetsly this is not just a review to say how much I love the salon and spa, it is advice for anyone who wants to get the style they have been trying to get for years, at an AFFORDABLE price, in a wonderful salon atmosphere. Honetly, that is what you get at NV. James cut my hair exactly how I asked, didn't cut too much like most stylists. I just needed a good trim, he UNDERSTANDS how to cut LONG HAIR that you would like to keep growing a little longer. He also gave me a GORGEOUS COLOR. My hair has never looked this good!! And on top of that the entire staff at NV is so great; very WELCOMING and FUN. They even give you a FREE GIFT for your Bday! The prices aren't crazy, so you don't have to worry about that. But even if they were it would be worth it! I have found my new perfect salon!

Great Experience!. I had my waxing and a facial done at this spa, what a great experience!!!

Asthetician Faina was knowledgeable, gentle and very thorough.

I would definitely recommend this place!

Cut and styled beautifully!. The cut was exactly what I was looking for and for a great price. James fixed the terrible cut I had from before, and my hair feels so healthy. Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and on time! Great scalp massage! I can't wait to go back next time!

Fabulous, Excellent, Talented Staff, Latest styles and Techniques, are just some of the words I could use to describe NV Salon and Spa. James is very skilled; my hair it very thick and he handles it with ease. Thanks to NV salon and Spa I always get a lot of compliments about my hair cut, color and style.

best services, best ambiance, very good location, very professional, good business hours.... it's new , it's hot, it's funcky, exclusively, after a free consultation I did my hair cut, and highlights, they give me exactly what I was asking for, all the staff are very professional, and had very good experience.

they repect my style and expectation, for a good price.
