Great Thai food at reasonable prices. This is a great place for reasonably-priced, very good Thai cuisine. It can get crowded, but I've always managed to be seated.
stylish, inexpensive, loud.
Went on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday. They don't seat you until your entire party arrives and there's not much room to wait, so we waited outside for a straggler. The place is crowded but it didn't seem like we or anyone else needed to wait very long. We had six people and they crammed us into a table meant for four, but if they hadn't we would have had to wait longer so it was alright.
Ambiance was above average. It's visually very attractive, and so are the clientele and wait staff. However, the music is loud and it was hard to hear everyone at the table. I didn't have any complaints about the service.
The food was worth it for the price, and drinks are cheap too. It's a good place to bring someone you want to impress because it's very stylish and inexpensive, but not for a first date or a situation where you need to have a conversation.
POOR SERVICE!!. I went to dinner at Sea on a Tuesday night for some good eats. I have dined here a few times before, and I very much enjoy the food at the affordable prices. However, this past experience was the worst, and I won't return again. As the restaurant was at capacity and with more ppl coming in, the manager had asked us to move to another table, claiming that the table we were seated was "reserved". That's pure BS! Don't expect a comped drink or anything when you oblige either. Secondly, I requested for glasses of water for myself and my partner...and then I had to ask again, from another waiter. After 20 minutes, we finally got our water (water refills were another problem). Lastly, because I only ate half of my dish, I asked for it to be packed. We received the check, paid...and yet no food returned. I asked where was my packed food. The waiter went into the back to look and returned with nothing. He had to ask what I had eaten. (What?!) Honestly, I think my food was sitting w/the other dirty dishes. They managed to find drunk man noodles stuck on the plate and scrape it off into a container. I know we weren't the only ones who had a bad time at Sea. Other instances we observed: (1) Telling a couple who were seated for abt 5-10 minutes that they had to get up from the seats and wait again, b/c one of the waiters had accidentally skipped the other party. Of course no comps for either party, (2) Seating 3 ppl at a 2 ppl table, (3) The manager started patrolling the area, handing out the bills to those who didn't quite finish eating
mediocre food. their green curry isn't spicy enough, the coconut flavor isn't rich enough either. this is not the place if you're looking for authenic Thai food.
Too Popular For Their Own Good. SEA has become so popular that they've let it go to their heads. It's super-trendy and there's always someone to take that empty seat, so it seems that customer service has been deemed not of the essence. The food is usually good but it certainly isn't a relaxing place to go. After being told that our party of three would be seated in 10 minutes and watching other parties (multiples of 2 and higher) seated for 40 minutes, the three of us were squished into a small 2-person table. And, atlhough tables opened up next to us and we ASKED for a slightly larger space, they left us awkardly seated. Needless to say, I'm never going back and you should be wary too.
Too trendi Thai.
This place is really trendi but they have forgotten about the most important part of a
restaurant, the food. The last two times I ordered from here my food was soo spicy that
I could barely eat it, and the spice took away from the flavor of the dish. And the Tom Kha soup was pathetic. If you want good authentic Thai this place is not the place to go.
Yum Yum Yum. What a great place. I came into the city to try out this restaurant because a friend had recommended it to my husband. The ambience was so fun, and the prices were great, on top of the fact that the food was really tasty. I wasn't thrilled to have to wait on line for thirty minutes, but I guess that's the price you pay for a popular place. I would definitely recommend SEA if you like thai cuisine!
Close the DOOR. Delicious food at a great price but do not go here on a cold day and sit by the front door. The red sliding doors may be unique but they do not block off the cold air from the outside. I was with a party of 7 (close but not next the the front doors) and we were eating with our coats on. Too cold to enjoy.
Can you say HORRIBLE. Awful from start to finish. Upon arrival there was not a host in sight which resulted in a couple arriving after us to be seated before us. We were escorted to a table twice and then turned back after losing our seats at the bar. We were subjected to the same CD over and over every 20 minutes. The host offered us 2 free appetizers; but, they were not of our choosing, just plopped down on the table. As for the food, we asked for nothing sweet. The waiter assured us it was spicy not sweet. Every dish from appetizer to soup to volcanic chicken was sickeningly SWEET. Not to mention that they served mushy CANNED peas and carrots in their dishes. This place may be cheap but as far as I wouldn't eat this place again if they were giving it away.
Food was delicious. Went there and had a combination of different seafood dishes and appetizers. The food was spicy and delicious. It might have been a little too spicy for my friend, which you can couteract with eat more rice and keeping water on hand. The place is a little tight and on a cold day, the seating by the entranceway can be pretty drafty. The price was extremely reasonable for the appetizers and food we ate. My suggestion is to eat family style because you'll want to try the other dishes.
