What People Are Saying About Province Chinese Canteen

Citysearch
In Short – Described as a "Chinese canteen," the most unusual feature of this Tribeca sandwich spot is its seating, an elaborate contraption of blond wood that spans the entire room, dipping down from above to form individual tables. Orders are paid for at the counter and then brought to diners. Sandwiches are made from mantou, a steamed sesame-encrusted bread, and loaded with fillings like spicy pork, short ribs and kimchi. Cold sesame noodles, salads and daily specials like a savory egg custard round out the menu.

Cute little modern space,
good, flavorful finger food
not as cheap as the Chinatown's buns and pastries,
but they have kimchee filled buns!
- Pros: good buns, friendly service
- Cons: more seating maybe?
