In Short
What this Alphabet City bar lacks in originality, it makes up for in comfort and simplicity. Every touch takes the tried-and-true route, from the dim lights and dark wood to the taps spouting Guinness and Blue Moon. The neighborhood's yuppies are compelled to put their pretensions aside--for the only things this laid-back bar could get snooty about are its heralded hamburger (one "Royale with Cheese") and a back patio with breathing room.

This place had great burgers. We had to wait a long time, but it was well worth it. The fries were crispy and hot. The drinks were average. It was a bit expensive for burgers and fries, but it was tasty and worth it.

found this place at random last weekend. Was just looking for a cold drink on a hot day. Drink was good. Wasn't really in the mood for a burger but boy am I glad I ordered one! The Royale with cheese was possibly the best burger I have had in the city - ever. Waitress was so nice and the services was prompt. Good beer selection. Perfect spot for burger brunch. (try the onion rings)

Best burger in the city...hands down. Skip the Bistro or the Shack and head over here instead. A little out of the way for most but well worth the trek across town, these burgers are perfection on a brioche bun. Two for one happy hour beers from 4 -7 and a great patio outside for when it's nice, friendly staff and an intimate setting - Royale has it all.
