“The place itself is impressive, huge showroom with raised seating so the view was great.”
“Ended with a pineapple cake, great dinner and show combo- a little pricey at the end of the day but I guess that is the Price of hanging out in the Meat Packing District.”
“I've also been once for happy hour and they had some good drink specials.”
“Second, the food was fantastic!”

“Top notch comedy acts, good food & drinks and excellent service make Comix my new favorite comedy spot in NYC.”
“The hosts are rude, the service is indifferent, the food is overpriced and bad.”
“Best comedy show I have witnessed in a long time.”
Gorgeous Place!!!. This place is just gorgeous! Haven't had that much fun in a last couple of years... Don't know what else to say other people reviews say it all. A+
Great comics are at Comix. Cream of the crop comics are always on the calendar at Comix. Located one block from the A, C, E at 14th St, this club is sure to show you a good time. It's a very professional atmosphere, geared towards ensuring the comedians get the full attention of the audience -- even with waiters and waitresses running around. Things can get pricey with the cost of the ticket, food and the two drink minimum, so watch what you get.
A great time.
I went to see Donald Glover at Comix, and the experience was tremendous!
The place was packed, so I was a little worried that the food would take awhile, but the service was great, and the food was terrific. I had a chicken BLT and a couple of Stellas, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. The club itself is amazing: an enormous room with nice mood lighting, comfortable seats. I’ve been to a few dives to see stand-up and Comix is clearly a cut above the rest.
The host was ridiculously funny, and I nearly cried when Hannibal Buress was on stage. Donald seemed to never pause during his set, just feeding off the energy of this really great crowd. He had me laughing the entire time!
Be sure to get there a little early. There was a long line going out the door by the time I arrived.
This club is something you have to see to believe.
Entertainment with your food and bev.
Comix frequently has fantastic headliners in a setting that is intimate enough you can get a full experience. Who wants to watch comedy in a warehouse sized venue?
Not a bad seat in the house.
Singles : Watch for Helen Hong's Laugh Match show. Riotous.
Bonus - they serve real good. Good food. Not hideous boring chain restaurant type faire.
In their room downstairs Comix frequently holds free shows. Look for the angst ridden diary readings and the dysfunctional family story hours.
Laugh therapy, considerably cheaper than a session with a head-shrinker.
Awesome Club!.
I took my wife to see Tom Green this past weekend, and it was a blast! We hung out in the front bar beforehand and it was incredible: just gorgeous and comfortable and we arrived early enough to catch the end of happy hour ($5 mixed drinks or beer!)
I’ve never been a better comedy show: the wait staff was pleasant and didn’t pester us, the host was very good at talking to the audience without making fun of them, and Tom brought the house down! Really funny. I was a big fan of the show, and I think people will be surprised how much fun he is live.
I’d definitely return to this club, especially after I saw who else was coming!
Great Comedians, Good layout.
I was lucky to see World Champion Judah Friedlander at Comix and would recommend this venue to everyone.
The staff & bartenders were friendly, making for a postive start to the night.
We had some stiff mixed drinks (thanks) at the bar while waiting and the seating process was well-organized & quick.
Once inside the venue, almost every seat had great views and we were lucky enough to be front row center. The comedians engaged the crowd.
Our waiter was quick to bring us round after round (thanks again).
I ordered food and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and speed.
Overall, i'd recommend this venue & will go back for comedians I want to see.
David The Voice Stein and Freddy Sheffield were Great. Best comedy show I have witnessed in a long time. My Girlfriend said she pissed in her pants. The top comedians were David "The Voice" Stein and Freddy Sheffield. I will be looking to were else these two talented comedians will be performing!
Comedy - not so great.
We went to the free comedy show tonight - and I don't think that just because a show is fee doesn't mean it should be offensive and lowest quality around.
Oh, and a tip - singling out the same audience members over and over to target with your lame comedy just makes the comic look stupid, not the patrons.
Not a good start to our first American comedy club.
Great Comedy, Great Service. I went to see a show on Wednesday night, and it was jam-packed with great comics and delicious food. Some of the comedians I hadn’t heard of were hilarious like Hannibal, and Jim Gaffigan showed up to perform! The night was full of pleasant surprises! I read a few negative reviews of the service, but our waitress was great. I was worried at first that ordering food and drinks might intrude on the show, but I never felt distracted nor rushed to put an order in. Great club! Great staff! I would definitely check it out again.
Used to be good :(.
I come to Comix each time I fly in to NYC. There are a ton of comedy clubs in this country, but there are none that are nearly as nice as Comix USED TO BE! The food was so good only 8 months ago, but now it suffers. I actually got some chicken raw last time. The crowds are small - and god knows it's not fun to laugh by yourself at a comedy show.
I will say the comics are always good considering what they are working with. There used to be a sweet, and cute audio booth boy that had the sweetest attitude, he even at one point actually refilled my ice water when my waitress was nowhere to be found before a show! The staff (mostly) really cared and went out of their way to make you happy. There needs to be more workers like that long blond haired booth boy.
I have a feeling that as much as I enjoyed staying in Chelsea for a long days work and to come down a few blocks to see a good show while getting waited on hand and foot is in the past and the staff will keep getting worse and all the good workers will continue to disappear.
I think it's worth your time to go elsewhere at this point if you want to get your laugh on. Sigh.....
