Terrible, terrible service

by kuk0lka at Citysearch

I decided to try this restaurant on a Sunday night to see what all the fuss is about. Obviously, about the girls in bikinis. That's where it ends. My boyfriend and I had to wait for five minutes to get seated when the restaurant was almost empty (it was towards the end of the night). The manager told us he is waiting for the hostess to seat us. The hostess was nowhere to be found. Why couldn't the manager seat us? I thought that's part of his job.

Since it's Broadway, the 20% gratuity is included so our server could not care less about providing us with at least a minimum of service. Unfriendly and unwelcoming, she looked like she has been partying/drinking/screwing around all night. No bread, no glass of water, no busboys at our table. Across from us was sitting a family with children - they definitely were in the wrong place!

I was completely dissatisfied with my Hawaiian Tropic experience. The food is good and the decor is great but the service is extremely bad - will not come back.

  • Pros: good food, great decor
  • Cons: horrible service, bad management

Good food, good sights

I went here for dinner a couple weeks ago, not expecting much from the food. Not only were the women very pretty but my meal was excellent. The service was top notch and we had a great time. I'd recommend it for NYers as well as tourists.

Most tourist trappy place in the city. Avoid.

Checked this place out with two friends a few months ago. Three guys, burger and one beer each, bill over $100. Food burned, service awful, i.e.- staff more concerned with b.s.'ing with each other than asking if we wanted anything else other than the bill, atmosphere felt too clubby. Really not worth stopping here. Save your hundred bucks and go get a full dinner with decent service and food.

  • Pros: Location (?)
  • Cons: Service (no question), food, pricing
