  1. The food is very good, especially considering the touristy midtown location.
  2. expected some pretty faces but we also liked the ambiance, convenient midtown location and the food was delicious.
  3. Food burned, service awful, i.e.- staff more concerned with b.s.'ing with each other than asking if we wanted anything else other than the bill, atmosphere felt too clubby.
  4. Women in bikinis and a bit of a zany ambiance and maybe some decent food.
  5. Yes you can have great food without women in bikinis, but you have to admit it makes for a fun addition to your meal.
  6. Well, the women are beautiful but nowhere near intimidating to this woman, the ambiance is a bit much for me, but the food is amazing.
  7. The food is good and the decor is great but the service is extremely bad - will not come back.

  9. Long story short, I didn't see a single group of young women in the place (that weren't being paid to be there), and the food was quite disappointing and expensive.

  11. Slow service, rude wait staff and average food

i knew restaurant was cut in half after renovation - only 2nd floor now. 2 girls in restaurant , fully dressed for an alaskan snow ball fight, upon getting menus , we were told that chef david burke menu no longer available. We got up and left.

  • Pros: non - we left
  • Cons: no girls, no bikinis, no david bruke

Terrible, terrible service

by kuk0lka at Citysearch

I decided to try this restaurant on a Sunday night to see what all the fuss is about. Obviously, about the girls in bikinis. That's where it ends. My boyfriend and I had to wait for five minutes to get seated when the restaurant was almost empty (it was towards the end of the night). The manager told us he is waiting for the hostess to seat us. The hostess was nowhere to be found. Why couldn't the manager seat us? I thought that's part of his job.

Since it's Broadway, the 20% gratuity is included so our server could not care less about providing us with at least a minimum of service. Unfriendly and unwelcoming, she looked like she has been partying/drinking/screwing around all night. No bread, no glass of water, no busboys at our table. Across from us was sitting a family with children - they definitely were in the wrong place!

I was completely dissatisfied with my Hawaiian Tropic experience. The food is good and the decor is great but the service is extremely bad - will not come back.

  • Pros: good food, great decor
  • Cons: horrible service, bad management

Good food, good sights

by Polly444 at Citysearch

I went here for dinner a couple weeks ago, not expecting much from the food. Not only were the women very pretty but my meal was excellent. The service was top notch and we had a great time. I'd recommend it for NYers as well as tourists.

  • Pros: Food, Service, Girls

Most tourist trappy place in the city. Avoid.

by Jaymen at Citysearch

Checked this place out with two friends a few months ago. Three guys, burger and one beer each, bill over $100. Food burned, service awful, i.e.- staff more concerned with b.s.'ing with each other than asking if we wanted anything else other than the bill, atmosphere felt too clubby. Really not worth stopping here. Save your hundred bucks and go get a full dinner with decent service and food.

  • Pros: Location (?)
  • Cons: Service (no question), food, pricing
4 Star Rating: Recommended

I Should Have Asked for his Phone Number!?!?!?!?!

by vicky614 at Citysearch

So I was on my way to Hawaiian Tropics with my girlfriends last Friday, when this complete hottie came up to me.... He told me, he saw me and had to meet me... but I was too intoxicated to take his number down. Instead, I told him to meet me at hawaiian tropics and then there was a mob of people there...

That was sooo stupid! Well hottie if you happen to read this, send me a message!

Ohh yeah btw I love Hawaiian Tropics, I will be back there again this Friday.
