In Short – An owner of Ten's Gentlemen's Club (just down the street) ups New York's exclusive-club ante with 13 quasi-boudoirs in a deluxe Flatiron District space. Decked out with leather banquettes, stocked minibars, TVs and on-call concierges, these canoodle-inducing rooms are cordoned off from the public lounge by gauzy curtains. Those not lucky enough to snag a private space get a taste of luxury with chandeliers, smoldering grey walls, hardwood floors and two marble bars.

What a waste!

by asg102984

So it was my cousin's 21st bday and she wanted to go to Room Service. So I looked the place up and saw nothing but bad reviews, but if that's where she wanted to go then that is where we would go. My other cousin and I made some back-up plans just in case we ran into Nick the bouncer that everyone kept writing about. I signed up for Marco's take me vip guestlist; he confirmed all the information with me. He was a very nice person; told me to ask for Tanya and she would take care of me and my guests.

Well we got there, Nick was actually nice. Tanya on the other hand was not. She didn't even look at the guestlist to see if my name was on it. She told us to speak to this other chick who was even more rude. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you're white. we were in a group of indian ppl and I'm sure that had something to do with it. Both Tanya and her lil friend had sticks up their butts; they acted like they were better than everyone. But from the looks of them, sorry you two weren't all that.

To tell you the truth I really did not want to go to this place to begin with. The only good thing about this place is it's location, there are sooo many other places to go to on East 21st street. Went to gramercy room and there was a much better crowd and everyone at the door was nice.

If you want to go to this place, please take the time to read all the reviews for Room Service. You will save yourself a lot of time and annoyance. Go to Duvet, Taj, Gramercy Room (strata), Slate, or even Porkys; anywhere but here.

  • Pros: location, you can go anywhere else after they act like jerks to at the door.
  • Cons: everything else

BadService

by MelisM1011

So Saturday night I went to this shithole of a place for my 25th birthday. I had everything prearranged with the OWNER beforehand, so I didn't think there would be any problems...boy was I wrong. I was inside with my friends enjoying my first drink of the night when I got a call from my friends (3 guys 10 girls) outside telling me that the d*****bag bad dresser of a doorman Nick would not let them in unless they paid $700. When I came outside, I was told the same exact thing. I briefly considered spending the money but I was told that it wasn't guaranteed everyone would get in. After hearing this, I took my friends who were already inside and my friends outside (30+ of us in total) and we took our business elsewhere. Let me just say that RoomService was completely empty at this time and needed the crowd.

Nick... if you ever read this, you're nothing but a DOORMAN... DOORMAN... DOORMAN... DOORMAN... DOORMAN and even if you know who wrote this, I won't be returning to this little trendy piece of place again so enjoy you "glorified job," if you'd even call it that b/c people in my business laugh at what you do. =)

  • Pros: It won't ever be too crowded b/c they don't let anyone in
  • Cons: Bad Dressing Doormen who ruin your birthday

Pathetic

by SISUE

So 6 hot girls show up to join a party inside....While the door people were getting the our friend, they told us to step to the side....fine...so we stepped to the side...30 seconds later the bouncer says "ladies, can you step over to make room for the people with bottle service." so we stepped to the side...the side walk. not 30 seconds later, the bouncer said again, "ladies, you can't stand there you have to move"...all my life in thought the side walk was the side walk and anyone can stand where they want. Soon the bouncer told us to move again. He should have just said "now, sit in the middle of the street because you're not worthy of standing in front of this club." After going back and forth with the guys at the door the 6 hotties left and spent their fortunes somewhere else. This place is pathetic....And so are all the losers at the door making $6 an hour.....

  • Pros: In New York City, so there's other places to go to....
  • Cons: Everything
