Editorial Review for 205 Bar – by Lynn Suhrie
In Short
Warhol's non-stop avant garde party is revived in a space decked out in salvaged, duct-taped mid-century modern couches, applique chairs and tin foil-clad walls. Behind the camo-colored bar (held up by office filing cabinets), doorless refrigerators stand in for shelves. The scene attracts everyone from stylish 24-year-olds to people who rocked-out in the original Factory. In the rowdiness-ready, plywood-clad basement, personal ads scrawled floor-to-ceiling illuminate the city's many fetishes.
Hits: A classic party bar with good music and a good crowd without over-crowding (most nights).
Misses: The door policy leans toward the friendly side of the spectrum, but groups of guys arriving without girls may be detained, and on weekend nights all guys may be subject to a cover charge.

Insider Tips
Live MusicIn addition to the nightly DJ sets, 205 sometimes hosts the occasional local buzz band.
Specialty CocktailsForget your Cran-blueberry Cosmo and your Jaeger Bomb--the specialty drinks here are old-school favorites such as the Stanton (Jack and Coke) and the Chrystie (vodka and soda).
DJDon't miss the DJs spinning disco and house downstairs.

205 is such a good time! I went their for the first time recently and had a blast. Despite the other reviews the doormen were totally cool and fine- we didn't have any problems with them at all. The downstairs is the best- music is amazing and the crowd is great. If you want to dance and are sick of the snooty NYC clubs, this is the spot to go!
Pros: Great Music Great Crowd
Cons: nothing

I love this place, I get wated, dance, get more wasted & get to meet those hot girls you see walking down the street in the summertime in Manhattan. Love the decor & I'm glad to see these spots popping up in the neighborhood!! DK
