Best so far, not one boring second !. As a guy from Amsterdam I liked this place a lot.

Awesome music with a good variety of all kinds.

Nice people and the place to go to for many more times!

Wend there with very spoiled Dutch students of international well known family's. We all had a fantastic time and we'll come back as much as we can.

Hot Place!. I had my birthday party here a few weeks ago on a Saturday night, and people are still talking about it! I had two tables in the back, the bottle waitress was soo nice (they didn't have 2 types of vodka we ordered, but that wasn't that much of a pain). The music was excellent, a good mix of everything, people were dancing, having a good time. The crowd was attractive, and the place was packed, so it's obviously popular. I would definitely recommend having a party here. The manager was adorable and very nice to me and all my friends. Easy people to work with. Friends' admission was comped, too. 205 is hot!

where are all the people?. I went here on a Saturday night based on the citysearch reviews. The music was awesome, the drinks were strong but the place was completely deserted. We arrived around 11:30, and the door staff assured us the place would soon be packed. We left two hours later and it was still quite empty. Everybody who worked there kept saying it would pick up around 1 or 1:30, but honestly, I just couldn't hold out that long. If only there had been people there, I probably would have had a good time. But who wants to be in an empty bar?

Recreating Andy Warhol's debaucherous Factory parties in a faux-dive on the Lower East Side.. In Short
Warhol's non-stop avant garde party is revived in a space decked out in salvaged, duct-taped mid-century modern couches, applique chairs and tin foil-clad walls. Behind the camo-colored bar (held up by office filing cabinets), doorless refrigerators stand in for shelves. The scene attracts everyone from stylish 24-year-olds to people who rocked-out in the original Factory. In the rowdiness-ready, plywood-clad basement, personal ads scrawled floor-to-ceiling illuminate the city's many fetishes.

Hits: A classic party bar with good music and a good crowd without over-crowding (most nights).

Misses: The door policy leans toward the friendly side of the spectrum, but groups of guys arriving without girls may be detained, and on weekend nights all guys may be subject to a cover charge.

Awesome Place!. 205 is such a good time! I went their for the first time recently and had a blast. Despite the other reviews the doormen were totally cool and fine- we didn't have any problems with them at all. The downstairs is the best- music is amazing and the crowd is great. If you want to dance and are sick of the snooty NYC clubs, this is the spot to go!

Depends on the night. Call me jaded but there is nothing new here. Maybe for the younger kids, but I'm one of those.

I used to go to the former 6's and 8's and the upstairs has changed for the worse I think.

I understand the minimalism but I just don't buy it.

The in house dj wasn't bad though.

I wouldn't go if I had to wait in some line.

Otherwise, hop in.

Monday. I was at the Monday night karaoke party the other night at 205. It was by far the best, and friendliest party I've been to in a very long time. Strangers were dancing together, Rosie Perez sang a cute 1980's funk song, and everyone had the an amazing time. I found my new Monday night venue!!

There was no cocktail service, but the bar was pretty attentive. At one point they seemed a little overwhelmed, but otherwise I got my beer under 5 minutes..The space is cutely done, reminiscent of The Factory - but it can get a little cramped at times.

Update: I've gone back 7 or 8 times since I posted the above review -and the last time with a crew who used to go to the original Factory - and everyone loved it. More celebrities were spotted (Sam Rockwell, Cisco Adler, Sienna Miller )and the best part - NO one acted like they were any different than normal NY'ers and no one treated them any differently, either. They had to wait for a beer just like anyone else- what a great, old new york vibe! I've seen a lot of crappy reviews about this place, but judging from the reviews of other places these people have visited, they feel more at home at Lotus or PM, or one of the cheesy B&T venues.... 205 is good - down, get-dirty old skool NYC.
