Day Spas >Priti Organic Spa
“The employees are very friendly and very polite.”
“Plus the services are not more expensive than those at other spas, even though the products here are so specialized.”
Great organic spa. I have visited Priti several times for massage, waxing and manicure/pedicures. The organic products alone would keep me coming back: not only am I avoiding harsh chemicals and fumes, so is the nail technician. These girls have had prior jobs where they breathed acetate fumes all day, and they tell me that they love working at Priti where that's not an issue, especially one girl who was several months pregnant when I came. For anyone concerned with how beauty products effect themselves and the environment, this place is a godsend. Plus the services are not more expensive than those at other spas, even though the products here are so specialized. The employees are very friendly and very polite. It's true that occasionally things can take longer than expected, so it's smart to budget in extra time, and be patient. It's worth it.
Disappointing experience. I have to vent. A friend treated me to a manicure/pedicure and full body massage last Sunday. Our appointment was for 12 noon. We were not seated for our first treatment (pedicure) until 12:45. The pedicure was fine, nothing special, and it took way too long...almost an hour. It would be one thing if they were massaging and scrubbing for that whole hour, but the reality was that they were just very slow about every movement. At one point my pedicurist left for about 10 minutes to talk in the corner with a co-worker while she was complaining about something in the appointment book. So, then time for my massage. Not sure why they scheduled me for a pedicure BEFORE the massage. Not the smartest idea as my toes were not fully dry when I got on the table. The table, by the way, was in a supply closet at the back of the salon. There was a curtain separating this "room" from the area where they clean the tools, get drinks for customers, etc. I could hear all of that going on, plus the music in the main salon area competing with the music playing in my "room". This area was so small that my masseuse couldn't move around the table without sliding against the wall. To top it, there was an insect under my sheet and the CD she had playing started skipping. Needless to say, it wasn't the most relaxing experience. The massage itself was fine, but the whole ambience was a joke. And they charge $110 for this. No shower by the way, no robes, no slippers. My friend was getting her facial in the proper massage room; the one with a door. She said it was fine, but we both agreed to bail on the manicure. It was already 3:30 by this time and all the stations were filled, so who knew how long we would have waited. Sorry, but this place doesn't offer much, aside organic products.
