Guitar riffs echo onto the sidewalk outside this rocking sliver of a salon; the sound intensifies inside where a giant, spray-painted logo and funky paintings by local artists communicate the non-traditional vibe. Clearly, artistic expression is the overarching theme--and at the five cutting stations, stylists eschew looks from TV for more street-savvy and sexy cuts, as well as creative colors and highlights and innovative straightening techniques. –
Attitude problem

I had been to Ave B for Brazilian Keratine about a year ago. Experience was okay. I decided to go back to them this year for the same treatment. My appointment was at 6:30 pm. I live and work in NJ about 35 miles away from them. Drive all the way there and happened to run into a slow down at the Holland tunnel which made me late. I called them at 6:40 pm to apologize for my lateness and inform them that I will be there soon. I was basically told that they can't take me because the woman who will do my hair has been there since 11 am and doesn't want to stay until midnight to do my hair. I was shocked because my hair only took 2.5 hours last time I did the treatment and that they would make such a big deal about 20 minutes eventhough I told her I drove all the way in from New Jersey. If the working hours were too long for the stylist, they should have never given me an appointment for 6:30. What a messed up place. They need some lessons in customer service.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: Sense of customer service non existent
Best Rock & Roll Salon Ever!!
by ccoste
I went to Shampoo for the 2nd time a couple of weeks ago and I am not disappointed that I decided to go back. Harley did both my cut and color and he is truly an artist. He takes his time and walks you through everything he is going to do for you.
The other stylists are also very nice and based on the work that I was able to see them perform they are amazing as well. I would love to try Domini the next time I am there, she truly has a rock & roll vibe going.
Thanks for making me feel awesome!
- Pros: Attentive, warm staff & great prices.
- Cons: None
Jenny changed my life
by WaspygirlNyc
My boyfriend went into shampoo to get a cut (that he really needed) and came home looking F-ing HOT! I had never seen such a detailed haircut on a man. It had tons of texture and it still looks good. It looks especially good after we have quality time ;-)
But, it also looks amazing when he's all clean and groomed for work. Jenny gave my man an awesome cut and I can't wait to come in and get mine.
Thanks Jenny!
- Pros: Good prices.
