HORRIBLE RECEPTIONISTS--VERY UNPLEASANT!!
by sitanyc at Citysearch
Dr. Goldberg's reception staff is incredibly rude, insulting and unprofessional. They make it extremely unpleasant to be a patient there. They make it incredibly difficult to get through to them on the phone, to make an appointment or even ask questions about your medical treatments. And on top of everything, I had to wait weeks to get an appointment!
Dr. Goldberg, on the other hand, seems to be a capable doctor, is quite friendly, and made me feel very comfortable about my treatment.
I will not, however, continue to see Dr. Goldberg because of how her reception staff have treated me. I've never been treated with such disrespect by a doctor's reception staff before. AVOID THIS OFFICE !!
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

I called Dr. Goldberg's office on Monday morning and was able to get an appt for the same week at 9:45am. I arrived at 9:35 and was rudely told by one of the 3 front desk girls to sign my name on a sign in sheet. 20 minutes later I asked her if I needed to fill out paperwork as I was a first time patient. She rolled her eyes and told me she knew I was there and would give it to me in a minute.
Upon filling out my paperwork I proceeded to sit in the waiting room FOR OVER AN HOUR! At no point was I made aware that Dr. Goldberg was running behind schedule as a courtesy. Myself and another patient had to ask them when we would be seeing the doctor as we both had to let our respective places of work know that our appointments were running very late.
After sitting there for over an hour I see a woman exit Dr. Goldberg's office and very loudly thank her for "squeezing her in this morning" ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Myself and other patients were kept waiting so this woman could have her face shot up with Botox at the last minute!
When I finally saw the doctor at 11:20 (reminder my appt was for 9:45am) she talked to me for 5 minutes about my issue - Eczxema - but kept asking why I didn't want to get a full body skin cancer scan. I told her I didn't have time and her response was "well it only takes 6-7 minutes. I felt like screaming at her "IF I HADN'T HAD TO WAIT FOR OVER AN HOUR MAYBE I WOULD HAVE TIME"
To top it all off when I left I was informed by the very rude front desk girl that my presecription would be called into my local Duane Reade right away. I just called the pharmacy (at 3:30pm) and they still had not gotten a call from the doctors office. I called to let them know and the girl's response was "yeah yeah yeah, we'll call it in now"
I have never had a worse experience at a doctors office!
DO NOT EVER GO TO DR ELIZABETH GOLDBERG unless you like to wait for hours and be treated with a complete lack of courtesy. If it was possible to give this review zero stars I would.
Horrendous Human Being - AVOID!!
by mobamobamoba at Citysearch
She's a perfectly fine physican but she's an awful human being. I made an appointment to have an infected cyst removed; the soonest she could see me was a week out, which was fine. Two days before, the office called to confirm. Two hours before I'm supposed to come into her office, her office calls to say she doesn't do these kinds of things anymore.
A caring human being would go "oops, my bad - now that I've scheduled and confirmed I'll just take care of it" - not this cow.
Can't speak to her medical skills, but terrible on the human level.
The Most Talented Dermatologist in New York City!
by NICOLA at Citysearch
I first heard of Dr. Goldberg from an old classmate while attending a Barnard College reunion. My friend's skin looked amazing and I prodded her for information. She told me to look up Dr. Elizabeth Goldberg of Urban Dermatology in SoHo, and I did. I was fully prepared to wait to see the doc until my next business trip to New York (I live in California), but was elated when her assistant called me with a cancellation.
Dr. Goldberg's examination was unhurried, thorough and honest. She actually discouraged me from getting unnecessary cosmetic procedures. I did receive Botox injections, and I must say, Dr. Goldberg's touch was amazing, and the results incredibly natural. They have lasted for months! Two months later, in NYC again, I received a Fraxel Laser treatment from Dr. Goldberg. I was worried because I had business meetings all week. Unbelievably, I hardly had any redness at all. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Goldberg to any one. She is caring, fabulous and with a touch of gold!
- Pros: Brilliant with an Amazing Touch
- Cons: None
Understanding Dermatologist
by grmb at Citysearch
Dr. Goldberg assessed the situation carefully and was thoughtful in her recommendation for treatment which was not uncomfortable. She followed up with a report as soon as it was available and I feel I am in confident and experienced hands. I will pay more attention to early skin problems thanks to her.
- Pros: Professionalism
