What People Are Saying About Babouche Restaurant & Lounge

In Short – Soho becomes a chic casbah for shoppers and tourists at this transporting eatery tucked behind L'Occitane. Intricately woven carpets cover the floors and mosaic tiles decorate the walls, while wooden Moorish archways section off the lounge and dining areas of the bi-level space. The menu sticks to familiar Moroccan fare: hummus topped with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and olives, kefta tagine (a clay pot of beef meatballs, peas and artichokes) and, for dessert, a goat cheese cake.

One of a kind restaurant!
by GoDuke
This restaurant is NOT closed. This place is absolutely breathtaking. There is a huge area downstairs where you can have private parties, as well as an area in the back. Hookahs are available, and the FOOD is fantastic! This is the gem of Park Slope. Specials are offered daily.

As a fan of their sister restaurant Barbes, I went out to Brooklyn to try Babouche....what a pleasure!
The atmosphere is like no other. Had a great dinner in the main room and retreated later in the night to the lounge. The lounge is a great place for a private event or a special night. For romance, request the alcove room in the back.
- Pros: Amazing atmosphere

Went on a Monday night for their "steak night" - no better deal around! Best Filet Mignon in Park Slope.
The food is consistently good.
The decor is beautiful.
They offer both traditional moroccan cuisine (which is definitely the best in ny) and moroccan/french/american fusion.
Went on a Saturday night for a birthday party in the lounge which has a fabulous atmosphere.
The brunch menu is a winner as well.
Some nights they have live music.
- Pros: Atmosphere, Food & Service
Amazing Seafood!
by garrett783
Babouche has a seafood special on Tuesdays for $19.95 featuring a seafood appetizer and entree. Many delightful choices are available. I began with the tuna tartare. It was seasoned wonderfully and came in a plentiful portion. The entree was a Sea Bass, presented whole, and again seasoned to perfection. The meat was tender yet moist. I was very very happy. Service was above par and very friendly. The host welcomed me and my friend, answered our questions about the restaurant, made a wine recommendation that worked extremely well with my food choices, and offered to give us a tour of the back lounge when our meal was done. My friend had the calamari salad and red snapper. He raved about the quality of the fish. For $19.95 we both felt we got more than our moneys worth.
- Pros: Great Prices, Tasty Dishes, Fun Atmosphere
