please don't go. Experience in Rita Hazan salon was overall bad. If you pay such a big money for your hairdresser or makeup artist you should get nice treat. I was amazed that hairstylist talked behind their customers. Non acceptable attitude. It made me feel very vulnerable and bad after I left salon. My makeup artist was a nicest guy but did not take my previous makeup properly away, did not do basement (under the makeup at all..)so makeup did not last long.I do better job myself. Not worth of 250UDS! Just please, Don't waist your money here.

Are you here for hair or a hug??. Listen, you make an appointment and pay the money for the service. You're hair is a mess and needs an update. Rita may not coddle you, but she tells you like it is. She is up front about pricing and the fact that this takes time and it may not even be exactly what you want you're first time, but after a few visits, you're hair will not only be the color you seek, but will be healthy as well. Ive been to too many salons where the promise something that cant happen, fry your hair just to take your money. She is young, modern and beyond talented, but its an investment. She doesnt push products or put you down, but rather tries to relate to what you have been through and what your lifestyle is. I felt comfortable in my sweats and was treated very well by her staff; the manager Erin, and her color assistant Nicole were more than acommodating, even setting me up with a haircut when I didnt make an appointment. Love the salon, love the staff, love the hair..annnd I was out in 2hours!

Rita is Horrible. So, I decided to fork up the $ for Rita. The color was fine, nothing special, my hair was a little dry and just a little brassy. I thought it looked okay. I read that she was rude but I didn't want to believe it. Honestly, though, she really is rude and condescending.

She wanted me to lighten my base and then get highlights. I have been getting natural highlights for years without lightening my base and been very happy with the results. I was hesitant to lighten my base, not unwilling, just hesitant and asked a few questions about the process and she was beyond rude. I am a professional, calm, woman and I still can't believe how horrible she was just for asking questions. On top of that, I paid $750 for an less than average color. She spent a total of 15 minutes with me. She will not spend a lot of time with you, please know she works on multiple clients at the same time and you will not get her undivided attention despite the high price. I almost laughed at how bad it was except it killed my pocketbook.

AMAZING COLORIST. I loved the color I got from Rita yesterday! I have gone through no less than 4 colorists in the last 6 months in an attempt to correct my brassy highlights. Discouraged, I decided to invest in Rita to correct my hair color. Within a few hours, she had made my hair color exactly what I wanted. Incredible!! So worth the investment!!!

BEST BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT AND CUT EVER!. I absolutely love My Brazilian Blowout and cut I had done by EUGENE! It has volume still some curl and as shiny as glass!!! Looks good without any effort just wash and go. Would highly recommend him to EVERYBODY that would like there hair to look its optimal best with the minimal amount of effort possible!!!

amazing cuts!. I have gone to the Rita Hazan Salon twice now for cuts, seeing Eugene both times. The first cut was long layers that grew out perfectly -- the best cut I had gotten along these lines, and I've had long layers for a long time. The second cut was much shorter and I thought it was a bit of a risk. But Eugene understood exactly what I was going for and it turned out gorgeous! He cut it damp first, then had his assistant blow it dry, then he had me stand up to see how it looked that way and he trimmed it again. Then he flat-ironed it to see how the ends looked and he trimmed it AGAIN to make it just right. This man deserves an award. Never has anyone taken so much time to get a cut flawless, and it is SO flawless. Every time I look in the mirror, I think, "Now that is the best haircut I have ever had." My boyfriend loves it, my friends love it, I love it.

As for the atmosphere at Rita Hazan, it's just fine. People are friendly, they get you whatever you like to drink, and I found the vibe and decor to be pretty mellow, although a non-New Yorker might say different. It's a little art deco, if you care about such things. I never feel any pressure to buy any products or anything else. And it's always really fast, even with all the attention to detail. Great place!

Very Poor Customer Relations. Had a hair model appt there for highlights. I heard they had a great reputation etc. The first night someone called me within hours of the appt to tell me that class night had been cancelled. Okay, it happens, they scheduled me for the following week. The next week, again I get a call within hours of my appt cancelling. They told me someone had made the appt in error, I asked to speak to the manager (Erin) and she told me they were not willing to make any accomodations in view of their mistake. In the meantime, I turned down several offers from other salons for their color class nights. This was a total waste of my time and I will never schedule with this salon again.

Do not doubt the talent here!. I was in NYC on a short business trip that I chose to combine with pleasure and called 5 days prior to my arrival to get an appt. I was more than surprised to find that my colorist would be Rita Hazan herself! She had no reason to see me as I certainly wasn't a regular. Just a woman in search of great color. As I walked out of her salon I felt like I could have gone straight to a photo shoot. I have yet to have another colorist do as great a job. She is gracious and one would never know who she was if she didn't introduce herself . An absolutely fabulous New York experience.
