Check out the Tower/Mat Classes! I love the intimate setting and how you receive individual attention. The classes have a limit of 5 people so definitely sign up in advance. Everyone seems to feed off each other and since the instruction is top notch you really have a great workout. It just feels good!
I have always worked out- a lot of weight lifting and running at the gym. I was looking to start Pilates to increase my flexibility and develop more core strength. I was looking for a studio with positive, knowledgable instructors who could help me to achieve my goals. Uptown Pilates was just that and more! I have never been more satisfied with a studio overall. All the instructors I have worked with have made an amazing impression on me, providing me with a whole new perspective about my body. After 5 sessions I felt so accomplished and developed a hunger for more! I am completely addicted to Uptown Pilates.
I was worried about starting Pilates sessions... I thought it would be all women! I was very relieved when I arrived at my session and saw other men working out. I have really enjoyed getting a tighter stomach and gaining more overall stability. The teachers can always tell exactly what you need to work on any given day, and are very knowledgeable about anatomy and the classic Pilates method. I love the feeling you get when you walk into the studio as well... Its such a warm environment and nothing like the cold gyms I used to go to!
Uptown Pilates makes Pilates Fun!.
My foremost reaction on encountering the studio's serene, light and airy ambience for the first time was;' how does one perspire here'? And then; 'I would be embarrassed to perspire here'. That was almost two years ago. Since then, the excelllent, excellent people at Uptown Pilates have turned
a sedentary, flighty person like myself into someone who will come to exercise at least twice a week. I am a zealous convert to both, pilates as an exercise regimen, and Uptown Pilates as the best venue; with its group of dedicated, professional and charming instructors. And yes one does perspire; profusely. But its fun.
Best Pilates in NYC. Especially for the demanding Upper East Side clientele!
Great Workout. I have been taking private sessions regularly throughout the summer and my body has never felt better! I have had to bounce around between different instructors because of my hectic schedule and they all have something new and challenging to offer me. It is such a nice, calm working environment and it is such a nice escape after a long day at work. It helps me focus and eases my stress, not to mention how amazing my body looks now.
Pilates Enhances Other Workouts. I've been training as a martial artist for 7 years and, for the last few months, I've incorporated Pilates into my workout regime. What a difference! Because Pilates focuses on core strength, it's made me a lot stronger and enhanced everything I do in martial arts -- my form has never been better. I won't go anywhere else but Uptown Pilates on Madison as it was highly recommended by so many of my friends and for good reason. The instructors are professional, the studio is clean and welcoming, and I love that it's a block away from Central Park. I often follow my sessions with a nice stroll through the park. Uptown Pilates 30 Day Challenge!. I've taken a couple classes and a private session at Uptown Pilates and I can honestly say that it was a lot more challenging than I thought it would be, but also with instant results. It feels like I've already grown taller. Ok, I know, I'm just standing up straighter thanks to my newfound posture. I am so excited to participate in their 30 Day Challenge (30 consecutive days!) which I know is going to domino effect into my eating and sleeping habits as well. Plus, their studio is clean, calming, welcoming, which is a nice break from my on-the-go crazy New York City life. 30 days...here we go!!
The uptown pilates team gets two thumbs up. I was really wary of exercise until I came to this studio. It's private and quiet and so beneficial for my body. I don't have to worry about getting fit and hurting myself...I only see physical improvements, and doesn't have that gym feel that I see other pilates studios have. It's great!
my husband and i go together. I can't believe I found a place my husband and I both like to work out! This place is amazing. We try different instructors to get the most out of this top-notch studios and plan on coming for years to come to stay in shape!
