friendly staff makes for a pleasant cafe experience. i really couldnt have too much to say about the wares in this establishment- after all my signature order is a simple espresso, no sugar, no cream , no sides. what made the experience for me. however, was the friendly, courteous wait staff and baristas, who were quick to liven the experience with a hjumorous comment and a sincere grin. definitely a good place to stop by and get cozy with a cappuchino and a book!

Best Crepe in the East Village !!!!.
A beautiful decoration and extremely clean upscale Cafe. They prepare the most delicious Nutella, Banana crepes that I ever had.
If anyone love sweets don't miss a great cappuccino and a sweet crepe. I also love the names as Latin Lovers Crepe.

Horrible service and bland food.
I live around the corner from here and am amazed at how poor the quality is of this place. It looks great and appears like it would be an easy and painless place to patronize ? but it isn't. The staff is rude, taking a long time to put everything together, rarely correctly and without flavor. They all act as if they really don't want to be there and look at you as if you are interrupting their private time. The last visit, when I got an impatient "What else?!" ? as if it was working the woman's last nerve in ordering ? really closed the book on Cafe Blu for me.
The previous incarnation was mr fresh bread, and much, much better. Much. Maybe the next one will be good.

dissappointing. This place used to be great when it was called "Mr. Fresh Bread". I ordered a western omelet for breakfast and they didn't even chop the veggies and ham, the just through it in there without even cooking them! I was tempted to call and complain but then realized the power of the internet. If you'd like to go to a real cafe, I'd check out Mud on 10th street (?) b/w 1st and second. Oh and weak coffee too! yuck!
