The Scene – Fast-food chic invades an otherwise dreary stretch of Seventh Avenue with striking results. Exposed brick walls, a bright orange and red color scheme, and butcher-block tables strike a harmonious balance. Though patrons order at the counter, food is delivered to the tables, and service is quick in spite of the written warnings that made-to-order food takes time. – – The Food – In trendy fashion, the farmed source of the meats is listed on a prominent chalkboard. Though the combinations seem endless (14 in all), the main conundrum is beef, turkey or veggie.…

Editor's Tips

Know Before You Go:
If you want your burger anything but medium well, you have to ask.
Dine at the Bar:
If you're dining solo, try the lengthy bar that overlooks the open kitchen.
What to Drink:
The restaurant has regular soda and Boylan's sodas, but the hand-squeezed lemonade is a special tart treat ($2.50). Beer and wine ($4-$5) is also available.
The Extras:
You can have a double or a triple burger for $2.50 or $5 extra.

  1. Service was slow and inattentive: it took the servers 3 attempts to bring me the right shake (I ordered a chocolate shake which should not be difficult to get right), and although I ordered my burger medium-rare, it came out well done.
  2. There were also fabulous shakes & cookies, and it was nice to see the menu offering of beer and wine.
  3. This place evens has the BEST cookies in the world!

  1. The burgers are mouth watering, juicy and the flavor is so delicious.
  2. Great juicy burgers with fun toppings.
  3. overpriced, mediocre burgers.
  4. Let me start out by saying I love burgers.
  5. Good concept and it could be a great burger joint.
  6. Bad burgers/fries, great shakes
  7. Overall, a decent burger joint if you want to dish out $7+ for a burger.
  8. That was the most mouthwateringly flavorful delicious burger I have ever had, veggie or meat!
  9. decent food, nice atmosphere- outrageously over-priced
  10. We thought the burgers were FABULOUS.
  11. The veggie burger wasn't bad, wasn't good.
  12. They had plenty of meat (enough to satisfy our huge appetites) with a great choice of toppings.
  13. Crazily overpriced, tasteless burgers with overcooked, cold fries.
  14. initially wasn't going to go in but with a name like BRGR I had to go in and find out if their burgers were good.
  15. There are not too many quick burger places where you can find gruyere, avocado & herbed mayo as a topping which is fabulous on the turkey burger.
  16. Their set combos (on beef, turkey, or veggie patties) are interesting for sure - but also you can select your own combo from a perfect list of really great gourmet ingredients (gourmet but not too tricky).
  17. Mediocre food, expensive prices, and slow service
  18. If you are in the mood for paying $20 for a dry tasteless burger and burnt fries and awsome shake, then Brgr is for you.
  19. but the food is EXTREMELY mediocre.
  20. yummy tasty sloppiness but the burger (i got beef) was cooked perfectly and had a chargrilled sweetness somehow.
  21. also got the onion hay, which was good but not worth $2.50.
  22. So we expected jumbo, delicious burgers with crispy, fresh, 'hot' fries - not the day old, wet, totally limp, real bad imitation happy meals that we got.
  23. As I;m sitting there enjoying one of the best burgers i've eaten in a long time, i see the girl behind the counter making milkshakes, even though I was stuffed from the bruger I had to try one and it was just as good as the burger!
  24. Being new to the neighborhood, I have been searching for a great burger.
  25. Great design, but overpriced and disappointing food.
  26. My husband and I are huge burger fans, so we couldn't wait to try this new place.
  27. Not to mention the best onion rings I have ever eaten in my life.
  28. Even their lemonade is fresh, I ordered a second one.
  29. oh, but the lemonade was very yummy!
  30. It's a great place for a quick burger.
  31. Service was slow and inattentive: it took the servers 3 attempts to bring me the right shake (I ordered a chocolate shake which should not be difficult to get right), and although I ordered my burger medium-rare, it came out well done.
  32. The burgers are also pricey for the size, and knowing that this place opened the same time as Stand (which is awesome!)
  33. just read some reviews and can't believe peoplle are complaining about getting an amazing meal with fresh artisanal ingredients for less than $15.
  34. If you want a better experience and a truly superior burger, I highly recommend 67 Burger in Brooklyn.
  35. We thought we'd treat ourselves but for a mouthful of expensive blah we shoulda just kept looking for the pizza slices we'd had in mind.
  36. the burger was decent but definitely not worth the price.
  37. The burger was so flavorful and yummy!
  38. got fresh chopped onion AND onion marmalade - (i like onions) and various other things (of course cheeeeese).
  39. Food is tasty but.
  40. Usually when you think veggie burger, an image of freezer thawed crusty tastelss brown mystery food, but this burger was so fresh and tasty it didn't taste like veggies at all.
  41. This is the best burger i've had in nyc in so long i can't remember.

Sorta Good

by Laryssa Symthe

I walk past this place all the time so i had to give it a try. The food was average and definitely overpriced. I wouldn't give it another try unless they made some serious changes.

Excited to see 'grass-fed', a bit pricey

by GermanGirlWithCurls

I was super excited to find this little grass-fed gem in Chelsea during our recent trip to Manhattan. My husband had a beef burger topped with egg, cheese, and some other goodies. I was delighted to find toppings such as 'egg' on the menu. I had the turkey burger. It was very juicy, rare for a turkey burger. The bun was quite greasy, and the burger itself was not very big and cost around $10...without fries or a drink. If it had been a $6.00 burger, I might have given a 4-star review. The food was good, the atmosphere was great....lots of leg room (rare for Manhattan)...but the food was not worth the prices, especially if you're looking to 'pig out'. Overall okay,

  • Pros: Grass-fed!! Pretty Tastey, Lots of Variety on Toppings
  • Cons: Prices!

Overpriced & average

the burger was decent but definitely not worth the price. It didn't even come with fries. Not much better than fast food places. I would not go back again.

Best burger on 7th Ave

by burgerlover2

Best burger I've had all year.Being new to the neighborhood, I have been searching for a great burger. Found it at brgr! Not sure what grass-fed means, but it sure is good and melts in your mouth. With bathing suit weather behind us, you have to try the shake. It gets three WOWs. Staff was busy, but kindof friendly. pricey, but worth it.

  • Pros: Tastey and fresh
  • Cons: 10 minute wait
