Meh food; worse service.
A group from work took one of our coworkers to lunch for her birthday, and it was quite a memorable experience.
Although it wasn't very crowded, the restaurant was very loud and the service was very slow. On the other hand, it might have been better if the server had never come at all.
Our drinks came in mini-glasses because they had run out of regular sized glasses even though, as I stated above, it wasn't very crowded (apparently, "dishwashers" and running thereof is a novel concept for them). My chicken avocado BLT came without the avocado. The gruyere on one of my coworker's grilled cheese sandwich was unmelted, and the sandwich came with oddly misshapen black mushroom pieces (we THINK they had, at some point, been creminis, but it was hard to tell). Another coworker's reuben was cold and she had to repeat her request for extra dressing on the side several times. The birthday girl asked for salad with her burger, and got fries instead.
At the end of this comedy of errors, they had the nerve to automatically add a 20% gratuity for our party of six. Good times, good times.
MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH WITHOUT THE BRUNCH OR THE VIEW!.
After making a reservation weeks in advance, I arrived for a Mother's Day BRUNCH and was shuffled to a table towards the center of the room near the bussing station. After requesting to be moved to a table near the windows (with the view), I was informed by the unfriendly hostess that those tables were specifically reserved for other patrons. 5 minutes after being seated, three tables near the window opened up and sat empty until we finished our VERY MEDIOCRE meal.
Oh, about the meal. Apparently, the restaurant decided to pull an old "bait and switch." Instead of serving Sunday Brunch, they produced an "all day menu," which featured the heavier and pricier dinner menu and NO BRUNCH items. All of the wait staff played dumb when I inquired about the brunch menu.
When the food finally arrived after 40 minutes (they served no bread, nor did the wait staff check on us), the food was overcooked, bland and greasy.
So much for trying to venture out to this side of the Hudson! Other than the view (if you get to see it), this place is NOT GOOD!
Good food & Service. Great views of Manhattan. Went To Harbor Bar & Brasserie after finding it on Citysearch. My wife & I had a very nice meal served by a an accomodating waitstaff. The view of Manhattan from across the river was very nice. Highly recommended.
Mediocre food, even worse service. We had passed by this restaurant several times, and it appeared to be a classy place. Being that we had never been we decided to give it a try. Upon entering the restaurant, two very unwelcoming hostesses "greeted" us. Let's try a little a more feeling hmm, girls? A smile couldn't hurt either. We were escorted to our tiny table next to the server's station and when we requested a change of table, a waitress with short brown hair gave us an attitude about it!! When the entrees came, our appetizer plates were still present on the table because our waiter never came to clear it. So when the server came by with our entrees, he stuck the plate in my face, expecting me to take it! HELLO, first rule of being a waiter, NEVER hand the plates to customer!!! WAIT until the table has been cleared and then PLACE the food in front of them. How incompetent can you be? After that, I was just thoroughly annoyed. It didn't help that the food was bland and uninspiring. The cod was tiny and too salty. I probably could have whipped up something tastier and I have no cooking skills whatsoever. Thank goodness for that special promotion they were having. I can't imagine having to pay their inflated prices for such a meal and I can't imagine why anyone would go back.
